Starting failure???

Hi,

I have a Sachs XTC125 4-stroke and at the moment am having problems with it starting. The story is, i was out today for around an hour before stopping over at a shop to pick up something, went back out to the bike to start and wouldn't start. It is sounding as it usually would(not flatter) but it wouldn't catch. Ended up giving very short bump start and it started fine Does anyone know what could be going wrong? The spark plug was changed just last week.

maybe the battery didn't have enough power to turn it over? My bike suffered the same and that's the reply from the garage, dunno if it's legit or not, but apparently if the batteries just a BIT undercharged then it wont have the power, but the bike'd be warm.

so not sure mate :S.

Does this still happen mate?

Is there a knack to starting the thing, a lot of 4-strokes need an amount of throttle and button to start.

Have you got the right plug in there?

Yeah it's still happening, i've tried adding a bit of throttle to it but still doesn't seem to start. The plug was changed last week to the recommended one from manual.

did the problem start before or after the plug change

It took place before the plug change then decided plug maybe reason so changed then about a week later it began again! I was out at the garage a minute ag and it started after charge but cut out when trying to rev like did before.

It may be possible that you have a faulty HT lead, causing to a weak spark. Not really sure though.

That wouldn't explain why it'd start with a bump start.

Does the engine turn over on the button?
