Hi All,

A few week left back I had low fuel and pulled into my petrol station and filled up. As I returned to my bike and tried to start it fired and wouldn’t run even though I tried bumping on the way home and luckily it was all downhill on the way home.
I have checked the spark and all good, it turns over fine but on checking the plug it was sotty. The bike only has 23k miles most done before my time but last 1000 miles is me and has been a great little runner. I have even bought an HH ODB Advanced tester and checked the faults but only had 3 errors which where old so cleared them but no joy.
After clearing the codes the dash light or engine management light is flashing 10, 10, 3 & 1 or 3, 1, 10 & 10 has anyone had any experience with this kind of code/flashing light code sequence and could offer advice???
Thanks,

BDonks

Just checked my records and I reckon it (like lot of chinese bikes)
uses the Delphi EFI system which have 4 digit fault codes
10 10 3 1 sounds like fault code
P0031 or "oxygen sensor heating pins shorted to ground"
Burned out O2 sensor in other words

Not saying it's deffo that as I thought a bad O2 sensor
just called a limp mode not a dead stop but whadda I know?

Easy to check at least, 300+ ohm resistor on the white wires on the bike's connector the O2 sensor.

Hi Guys,

For the feedback and sounds like it could be the issue, much appreciated.
So just to be clear where is the O2 sensor located? Is it the one on the exhaust or is it at the fuel injectors side?

Thanks,

BDonks

Going by the pics I see on t'internet it on the Rh side
and it's that bit sticking up from the exhaust just behind the shiny heat shield.
the cable from it will go to the ECU

Out of curiosity to get Delphi fault codes without a scan tool
try going to the bike and turn the ignition key
On - off
On - off
On
not too fast not too slow, in say half second intervals

and see if it starts to flash error codes

if it does, note the flashes then turn it off when done

it would be handy to know if this works

BTW 10 flashes = 0

Good news I now found out how to work my scanner properly it I think it only started working properly because of my Friend WD Forte!

It is definitely a P0031 code and lights on the clock confirms it by me counting the number of flashes but also see the attached pics thanks f the readout from the cheap £5 but of kit I bought on eBay.

So I presume now I just replace the sensor or O2 sensor?

Either get a new sensor (might not be easy to find considering the bike), or leave the sensor in place but disconnected, and wire in a resistor as above.

So in answer to Alex; I may just try the resistor route as there are no senors around. Even CMPO are struggling and no one else stocks them at the mo.

And to answer WD Forte; I did try the on, off, on, off and it worked but also helped the scanner I had bought to work too.

Thanks again guys, will keep you posted on if I get it going using your methods. I may need to clean the exhaust as I clean the sensor with petrol and a tooth bush but when I took it out again today to get the serial numbers to search for a sensor it was completely dirty again. I suspect the exhaust in all carboned up and each tome the bike turns over it messes with the sensor.
Anyway am work for next few days and can only take another look on Sunday.

Your £5 diag kit sounds interesting - care to post the item link for others ?

You've cgot cause and effect the wrong way round.

As the oxygen sensor has gone open circuit the ecu doesn't know how much oxygen is going straight into the exhaust so richens up the mixture, causing the exhaust to soot up, to prevent the engine overheating and making a hole in your piston.

I'd like to see that too
CMPO kit starts at £24 and that's not even with the adapter cable
from the 16 pin OBD to whatever pinout the bike uses
a 2-3-4 way connector.

BDonks is obviously showing us phone screen shots do I suspect
he already had an android/bluetooth obd reader and bought an
adapter interface cable for £5

stop press!
just found this one for £3.95
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/144060054949?
Even if you use torque pro's free version you still need an interface cable but it may be worth a punt

I just ordered one to play with, I can make the interface cables myself

I know I used to make lots of gadgets until I realised I can buy
Chinese stuff for pennies and hack that to do what I want.

Just realised it comes with various software too which may make it
worth the £3.95 on its own.
I can read and clear Honda fault codes easily with a simple cable
but if it helps me get others it could be very useful.

Hey Guys,
Here is the link to the scanner but the more expensive one works with iPhone as well. 2021 ELM327 HH ODB ODB2 Torque PRO Bluetooth Car Auto Diagnostic Scanner Tool.

Didn’t understand the comment about the sensor neither wrong way round. The wiring can only go one way. Please can you elaborate a bit further so I can do some more troubleshooting.

Thanks

FFS you're a bit thick.

The rich mixture isn't coking up the sensor and exhaust. The fucked sensor is causing the rich mixture....
