Tried Googling it, couldn't find any more information on make and model.

I was pulled the other night by two coppers on these bikes:

They pretended they could smell weed off me and after checking I was insured, taxed and MOT'd they let me off on my way again.

Reason I am interested afterwards is because one of them made a remark about them being fast enough to chase down stolen motorcycles and I was like Thinking ain't these like 250cc dirt bikes? How the fuck you going to get after a 600 or 650 plus?

What are they? I know the sum total of nothing about dirt bikes, are they really that fast?

Could be CRF250Ls in the photo there is the distinctive bizarre brake line routing where it loops up above dash.
Their top speed is probably about 80mph but not really happy above 60mph.
Additionally for half decent off road ability they are better geared down a bit with alternative sprockets - so lose 5-10mph top speed

I think I would like to be a police motorcyclist. Let everyone off except bike thieves. Visions of the police chasing a ned in his stole 50cc scooter across a field littered with cows dung patches, slipping and head first into some shite while the scooter get away.

Next they'll be using Triumph rockets for blood delivery.

Not sure what types of bikes they are.
