Another one bites the dust

c_dug Killer of Bikes strikes again!

Riding through central London in a 20 zone and traffic came to a stop, I began filtering but conscious of the fact that there was a junction coming up on the right I was going very slowly fully expecting somebody to pull across.

Low and behold a skip lorry did a one-flash indication and began to swing across me, I managed to stop clear of the skip lorry only to be collected by my friend who was following on his 125, he was a way back and was trying to catch up, didn't slow for the junction, and ultimately he couldn't stop when I did.

He his me so hard it snapped his frame and wedged my bike under the skip truck. Thankfully neither of us are injured but both bikes are gonners - you can't tell from photos but my rear subframe is properly twisted and the forks are dented too.

I can beat that. A car in front of me once indicated his intent to turn right by slamming on his brakes. I stopped and my mate ran into the back of me taking us both to the ground.

Said mate was actually riding my spare bike because his was broken down so I was down two bikes in one crash.

20 mph did that, shocking! It looks like a fresh fracture not one that has been growing for some time, is there a standard crash test/specification for bikes like crash testing cars?

Bit of Duct tape should fix that lot up good, proper job. Probably be more structurally secure than it was before the bump.
