OK my gilera dna 50 is playing up this time theres something wrong with the throttle. Say i turn the throotle 3 quaters full it will go full speed but then i open it up all the way and it will start to slow down to a full stop but i wait and it will go again with the throotle fully open, But i take it back down to 3 quaters full and it will increase speed.

Anyone got any ideas?

It had only best serviced like 3 weeks ago and he said he changed the spark ply. could the spark plug be bad?

Dunno why, i just lived with it.

Try adjusting the oil pump.

My ped does that when I'm out in the rain, dies on full throttle.

I take the spark plug lead off, wipe it, and away it goes Thumbs Up .... (until the next puddle)

OK I will say what i have done before this started to happen. I firstly took out a copper ring which is placed on the carb where it connects to the air filter box.

It was going well and saw increase in performance so all i though it was there for was a restriction and then people on this board were talking about a rubber snorkal which i took of to which is another restriction.

Then i dont know why but i drilled a hole in the air box to let more air into the system about half way through doing these then started seeing problems. So i put them all back and cover the hole.

Great! its working how it was for a few minutes, oh no it goes back to what it was doing. So like you said i take spark plug out it was black so i cleaned it and put lead onto it. Stick it back in and well i dont know it still has problems same as before.

I feel so silly mucking about with it now. Sad

Crying or Very sad if your going to try and mod a scoot do it properly!

check theres no air leaks, change the spark plug and that shud be all fine

oh its adna 50 not a 125, hopefully theres no damage to the cylinder best bet is change the spark plug and check the carb + air box for holes and air leaks

Ok just got a new spark plug into today and still having the same problem. I also put a cable tie back on where the airbox connects to the carb, which i forgot to put back on. I also filled the hole which i drilled in the airbox.

But i remember cleaning the air filter with this methane stuff what i use on my nitro rc car, couyld i need a new airfilter?

Also another thing i saw is when i took the old spark plug out it was black and has black dirt on.

Can someone help?

check the filter eliment is alright and not damaged

and put a fresh plug in there

Black dirt = too much oil or fuel

If you have taken out the brass plate in the carb mouth then put the fucker back in, they won't run on full throttle on a standard engine without it. Rolling Eyes

It sounds like its running lean one of two ways, either through the de-restriction process so you will need a bigger main jet to sort it or there is a fuel flow problem to the carb from the tank, is there a filter on the fuel line?

From experience whenever the restrictor between the carb mouth and airbox boot (the gold steel plate) has been removed you will need to upjet. Have a look on the taffspeed site for information.

Also have you got a de-restricted exhaust?

pat= Ok what i did was like put a little bit of full synthinic stuff in and then filled it with castrol tt 2 stroke engine oil. Does it matter if you mix oils, they were both the same colour. I havent checked how much oil i have in there the red light hasnt come on yet.
kye=I did take it out and it was running sweet, then it was going bad like it is now so i put it in again and i run good for about 3o seconds then went bad again.

Why oh why me

But i really do thankyou for all your biker knologede i just want my bike fixed. Smile

leave the plate out, upjet and de-restrict the exhaust Cool

Have a look at the old spark plug, look at the electrode (the part that sits inside the engine, though not the threaded bit) and see what sort of colour it is.

Also try soaking your air filter in oil and squeezing the excess out.
