125cc sub 1500 pounds

Looking for a 125cc for around a grand. Sinnis stealth any good? I just want something thatll start and run every time and be easy enough to sell on afterwards. Any suggestions? cheers

YBR125. Loads around in that price range, easy to source parts, will basically be worth what you paid when you come to sell.

I have seen a few YBR's as well as CBR125's in that sort of price bracket. One's a bit sportier looking than the other but a good one of either will do the job.

Please don't buy a Sinnis, or any other Chinese domestic market tat. £1500 will buy you something decent as long as you're prepared to bide your time.

I'm not a china bike hater, I'd go with a CFMoto or a Lexmoto if I had to.

I had a Honda vt125 shadow and would thoroughly recommend one, if they weren't so expensive these days.

My mates son in law has a Lexmoto LXR 125, he got a 2021 for £1800. Has a few scratches from being dropped on each side but was otherwise top notch. I was out with him last weekend. The bike looks cracking for a 125 and he hit 70 on a decline. Also overtook a car and tractor, I was impressed. Laughing

His first time out after doing his CBT. Only nearly killed himself once by forgetting how to take a corner, but all good. The LXR reminds me of an R3. It feels like a bigger bike than 125. You could do worse. Maybe pick up an older one.

Chinese bikes used to be cheap and nasty.

They have got better, but are now considerably more expensive.

I think it would be hard to justify one financially over a used Japanese or European bike.
