what the hell is a governor?

Is this the 4 stroke version?

yer it is 4 stroke. The guvernor slows me down its like a restricter wen i do ova 30mph it cuts my engine off iv been readin websites it says its removeable but it dont tell me how 2 Sad

My mate has one and hers go 40MPH and there is no restriction at all on hers. Just a little nick in the throttle that stops it going back so far, but then it only madeit accelerate better. You own a 4 stroke 50cc you will never compete with their 2 stroke counterparts. Smile

Ok. well it will be somthing electrical if it cuts the revs off when you hit 30...

you may need a new CDI unit making...

Give me the Make and Model of the scooter and ill look into it for you. Thumbs Up

If it runs on Vari Drive (which I assume it will) then I think there may be a variator restriction...

its a tiashan commuter 50cc iv been readin websites and it says thats what the governor does and it can be removed

The governor on old steam engines looks like this. I bet if you pull your bike to bits there will be something that looks similar. Just chuck this bit in the bin and you're done. If nothing seems to be exactly the same, just chuck out whichever bit looks most similar to this, I bet it will be the right bit Very Happy

cheers 4 info but iv took my bike 2 bits and iv seen wat the guvernor looks like and iv took it out but it just wont start up Sad
