I went to use the bike for the first time in a while this morning, got it all nicely started and warmed up.

Then I noticed all the oil on the front wheel.

I think the fork seal has blown. Sad

Any idea how expensive they are to do?

It's a 2001 RS125. It' only just got 5000km on the clock from new.

Are they reverse forks? should be a little cheaper to do (should be easyer than regular forks) maybe about £50/60... if you have the right tools and knowlageble friends you might be able to do it yourself, its not all that hard to do on USD forks..
If they are right way up forks could be more like £80ish, and you'll need to take the forks off to do them and have a vice, circlip pliers, torque wrench, and all sorts of other bits..

Should you do them as a pair?

Yep, generally, because sods law they will go one after the other if you dont, seals are only £15 for a pair afaik, and its allot of messing about only to do one.. (unless one had been done recently and you didn't do both Razz )

Cheers for the help, I think I'll have to make a few calls in the morning. The only pain is going to be getting it to a garage, I havent't got time to muck about with it myself.

I'll see if I can borrow a dynacycler and bung it on the back of my truck.

I would ride it to the garage, just take it canny.

I have ridden many a bike for months with blown fork seals/no oil in the forks. They can get a bit bouncy round corners but if you don't push it too hard, it should ride ok.

Obviously if there is oil on the brakes, it is a different story.

I think the oil's run down the back of the calliper and then dropped straight onto the wheel.
