I'm pretty sure it's the centre stand as that seems to be the lowest part on the underside of the bike.

Soooo...

can I take it off?

Is it a lot of effort?

Does it affect the handling?

Considering it only really happens when I corner hard is it worth me bothering?

Aslong as you have a side stand removing the centre stand is up to you.

I took the centre stand off my bike because when I downgeared it, the chain sat lower and would rub on the stand when it was retracted. Couple of spings and a couple of nuts, no trouble to remove.

However, if it's not a constant problem I would leave it on as they're so damn useful for chain maintenance.
