Fuffin' computers, I fuffin' hate 'em! Which is a bit inconvenient seeing as I work in IT
My main PC occasionally has a problem going to sleep. After a manual reset it's usually either completely fine, reboots on it's own or locks up - usually within the first 5 mins. Second reboot it's perfectly fine again.
Random reboots says to me power supply or motherboard. The former wouldn't be much to swap but the latter? I may as well build a new PC. This thing's getting a bit old though, 7th gen Intel, so maybe not worth the effort of keeping it creaking on ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Replace the power supply first. If that's not the issue, you have a new power supply for your new PC. ____________________ DILLIGAF |

I'd normally help, but sleep mode is shite in general, I'd rather turn it off It boots in sub 10 seconds anyway so fuck it. |

Yes, I turned it off all day today and just used the dev pc instead. Turned it on just now, booted up and a few minutes later random reset. On the 2nd reboot now and it seems perfectly fine. Note the screen freezes for about half a second before it reboots.
FWIW it's a Gigabyte Z270N-WIFI Mini-ITX, Intel i5-7500 3.4GHz, 2x 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 PC17100, GTX1050ti with a 550W SFX psu. No idea on the manufacturers of the last two without dismantling the thing. ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Tried resetting the BIOS. Dunno what was up with the old settings but it boots to Windows in seconds now so that's something
Didn't fix it though as tonight I got a BSOD. This is actually progress as I can run a dump analysis* and maybe get some clues; so begins an epic journey
Windbg had a moan up about the NT kernel which usually points to a driver issue. Cue Windows' driver verifier which crashed on reboot (don't worry, it's meant to) and had a moan up about HID classes. I uninstalled any old drivers I could find - Saitek and Logitech needing some heavy registry editing to remove completely - and tried again.
My system now boots up with driver verify running. Hooray? Maybe. I wouldn't suspect what should be inactive HID drivers to kill a system but Saitek apparently has a poor reputation. However if my system does crash again hopefully the driver verify process will point out the real culprit.
The journey continues....

Progress! Not sure whether driver verify helped reveal it but had a crash this morning. System locked up but this time I left it and after a few minutes I got a BSOD. Dump analysis pointed to "EasyTuneService" which is part of the Gigabyte overclocking suite, uninstall!
Fingers crossed we have winner ____________________ Royal Enfield Continental GT 535, Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |
