Supermarket clubcards. Nosey bastards. If they’re so keen to proclaim cheap prices just do it.

People who let their toddlers walk down the steps of the underground station at rush hour. Mad

These are the people who shouldn't be part of the gene pool in the first place.

The problem with that is apart from getting in everybody’s way and being really slow, is that when the toddler finally does take a tumble on those concrete steps, it’s disturbing to see.

All because ‘progressive mum and/or trendy dad’ want their little poppet to develop at their own pace. Rolling Eyes

Cats, specifically my "little" Norwegian Forest kitten, he isn't a fan of the food/steals my other cats food, however its giving him a dicky belly.... and he has a fair bit of hair, and wet poo... cue shit smeared items as he runs at 100mph onto your lap.

He also hates water, like most cats, so is fearful of the bath and a wash.. unless you wish to die a death of a 1000 cuts.

I love him, but I'd rather change shitty nappies than have to change my clothes for the 2nd time before 10am because of poop...

Being threatened verbally (and physical threats) by some total random person who then chased me. I got away, but I'm seething about the whole incident. Perhaps I should have stood my ground but who knows what they might have had on them or what their true intentions were; these days could be anything up to and including a gun, although a knife is more probable (of course it might have all been hollow threats). I am actually a bit surprised at myself how annoyed I am. The guy looked a mess physically, plenty of hallmarks of drug abuse so given I didn't provoke the situation, I can only assume it was either a case of mistaken identity or totally screwed up mentally (or both).

A paranoid schizophrenic off their meds would pick a fight with anyone. Don't get annoyed, it's the urban equivalent of running from an angry bear!

I know exactly what you mean... years ago I opened the front door at about 1 am after hearing a noise, and ended up with a similar-sounding character getting his foot in my doorway. I couldn't retreat into the house or he'd have come in after me, and when I tried (and failed!) once to shove him away he got really nasty. A lot bigger and younger than me and clearly off his head. My wife and young kids were asleep upstairs; street was dead quiet and nobody responded to my shouts. Police eventually came after about half an hour (had been summoned unbeknown to me) and all ended well, but even now it makes me really angry just thinking about it. Mad

That sounds a lot scarier; I consoled myself with the knowledge that this took place nowhere near home. Something like that literally on my doorstep wouldn't be fun!

Funny how it plays on your mind; I am intermittently getting irrational desires to go out and find him (obviously I won't do that though!). Not sure what I'd do if I did actually find him.

One of the first rules of good self defence is not to get into a fight in the first place....... you did the right thing avoiding a physical confrontation.
Even if you were confident you could batter him, blood and nasty body fluids are always an issue!
Fear is nature’s way of keeping you safe.

You’re still in one piece = result

Yes, baby wipes are saviours. We did ask about trimming him, we've only recently got him and don't want to just do stuff, but I do feel a little trim as a kitten might be a good idea Laughing

A trick I've used before for cats on special diets. Fit a chip access catflap in a cupboard door and feed the other cats in there. Program the flap to deny him access.

What I now refer to a "atidying". The act of making things look like they are tidy but actually increasing the degree of disorder. Mrs stinkwheel is a past master at this.

So earlier today she casually mentioned she'd tidied the books off my bedside table back onto the bookshelf. Now I'll freely admit this was getting somewhat out of hand and did resemble an advanced level game of jenga with books stacked maybe 10 high in some areas so I thanked her very much and said it was thoughtful of her.

Got myself nice and sleepy, ready for bed tonight. In the room to find my bedside table totally empty except for the one book I'm currently reading.Cue me instantly wide awake and in a slight state of panic. There was a whole lot of other stuff on there.

One could successfully argue that a bedside table is not an appropriate place to keep a motorcycle logbook, a bag of custom-size dished canoe gunwale washers, a set of assorted slow running jets and a selection of other small and easily lost fiddly items and bits of paperwork. One could equally argue that they were put there so I knew where they were.

The other factor here is that Mrs stinkwheel does not actually know what many of these items are so me asking her at some point in the future "Have you seen my bag of pilot jets/micro USB adapter/cow milking needle/dimmer control module? They were on my bedside table." will not elicit any sort of useful reply, or even an outright denial of having seen them.

Cue me spending the last half hour running round the house locating numerous small but imoprtant items I'd put somewhere I knew where they were but which are now officially "lost". So my carb jets were in a hot chocolate tin on a shelf in the kitchen (along with several other objects I thought I had previously lost) which I think I could make a damning argument for being just as inappropriate a place as my bedside table. My logbook was on a pile of old bank statments in the living room.... I could go on.

It's reminiscant of the time I was supposed to be going on a bike run to the Highlands and a good hour later located my helmet in a cardboard box on top of the wardrobe in the spare room. Or loading the bike for another trip and eventually finding all the bungees in the house collected up and stuffed in a waterproof pannier cover in the airing cupboard.

I agree, however, I think Stinkers is suffering from what i call "flat surface syndrome" ie if you can put something down on it then before long that flat surface will be covered in all sorts of random crap. There is only one cure.

Idiotic kids with fireworks setting them off in the street. Honestly haven't they got anything better to do? I would say ban fireworks, but they'd still procure them from somewhere.

The thing is ... those were the places for those things.
He knew exactly where the milking needle thingies were - until she moved them.

I blotted my copybook quite quickly with the previous (Wiltshire) consort on that front Laughing : his (4 bedroom) house-and-double-garage is a shit tip from top to bottom. I tried to gently tidy up around him, even minimal things like moving all the cans of tuna and boxes of UhT milk from off the worktop into the kitchen cupboards, etc - but he often became irritated that (for example) his magnifying glass was no longer on top of the shoebox full of paperwork/seemingly random washers, which was balanced on top of an old plate of egg, chips and beans that he hadn't got round to washing up because the hot water didn't work in the kitchen sink. Puke

But after his daughter blitzed some of the rooms in his house when she moved in with her kids for a while, I understood his grumbles. It was certainly tidier (for a while) but he couldn't find anythng, most of which she had just thrown out Shocked

When I thought about how I know where odd little things are (i.e., where I keep my various phones and their chargers, the special place for my passport or how to find the keys for my bike/s) - I realised he had a valid point - but that boy seriously does need a gentle guiding hand to help him clear up the state of the place. Brick Wall

Happily the Senior Consort has no such issues and is organised, clean and tidy. So messy old Jen turning up is like a tornado of chaos into his house, abandoning my outdoors coat on the corner of a door, earrings on the bedside table, lipstick on the pillows, or traipsing fox poo back into the kitchen from the garden, and leaving assorted bunches of drying herbs to deteriorate untidily on his worktop Laughing
