125 sports bikes

right im on a ped and want rid as im getting pure evil looks and laffs at when i go to a biker pub with the lads . im looking to get a 2nd hand 125cc sports need some decent recommenadtions

either

RS 125
TZR 125
CBR 125

which would be the best?

£1500 to spend

and i need a 125cc geard bike so i can get use to gears before me test

RS125 is probably your best bet. Probably one of the best looking and fastest. I do like the mito's but i think they are quite rare.

i have been considering an RS the most as i here they are the best 125 but ive got a mate who's determind that a TZRwill do 130mph dream land i think he's in

I would have to recommend either the rs or the mito. They are basically the same bike with different farings on them. Either will be very fast, in excess of 100mph once de-restricted. You can't do that though till you've passed your test. Have just bought a mito 125, and i'm loving every minute. They are rare and can be expensive to run but they scare the tits off so many people and they're great fun.

Best to take them for a test ride if you can. The mito is not the most comfortable and the rs is a little smaller. It really is just down to what you like.

Hi

The CBR is slow, boring and probably reasonably reliable. However you will be stretching your budget to get one.

The RS (which is a VERY different bike to the Mito) is quick but needs careful ownership. Yes a very good bike, but not really that well suited to people who are learning how to keep a bike.

The TZR depends on which model of TZR you mean (there are 3 totally different models). The original UK spec TZR was kick start only and had a steel frame (painted to look like alloy). You should be able to pick one up fairly easily in good condition well under your budget. Real top speed will be in the low 90s. The Italian built TZR125s are a fair bit quicker (think the frame is from the reverse cylinder TZR250), but with these you are likely to have the same reliability issues as an RS but with rather worse spares availability. Performance will be pretty close to that of the RS. The late UK spec TZR is not as quick with skinny USD forks but these are quite rare. The RS would be a fair bit quicker.

Personally I think the Mito is the best looking and quite possibly the best engineered (and this is from an RS owner), but reliability wise and performance wise it is little different to the RS.

I would go for a RS if i were you.
the cbr is a four stroke 125, therefore slow. I absolutly kill my mate on his sachs 4t roadster, and i dont try.
The RS'z are very quick bikes and very sporty, but for £1500 make sure you pick up a good one otherwise it'll cost you.
I dont know much about the TZR's, i have never liked the look of them.
But go for the one that you think is right for you. I made that mistake with my RS, i got it because evry1 said get one and it honestly scares the shite out of me with how quick it is for a 125cc.

my advice would be not to get a 125 at all. if you're getting a loan then your strapped for cash, as i was, why save your money, pass your test and get a little 500 commuter or 600 like the hornet? you will get more for your money, four strokes will definately be more reliable than the fiery 125 two strokes, better fuel economy etc...

reason for the RS is to learn gears on and then do me test and then get something like a ZXR or ZZR 400 or what ever is availble
