ParcelFarce ... sitting about 10ft away from front door ... checked email around 10:30.

ParcelFarce attempted delivery at 9:38am, card left ........ no knock on door, no press of doorbell, no card ... fuckwit must have been using ESP to let me know he was trying to deliver.

In the afternoon I was upstairs, heard a knock, downstairs to find EVRI delivering a parcel ....... so I heard a knock over 20ft away, upstairs behind another door .... but didn't hear one 10ft away!!

Really feel like putting a note on the door along the lines of ....

*** DELIVERIES ***
1) KNOCKING LOUDLY OR PRESSING THE DOORBELL, WILL INDICATE TO ME THAT SOMEONE IS AT MY DOOR.

2) PLEASE NOTE, EITHER METHOD OF INDICATING YOUR PRESENCE DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY TELEPORT ME TO THE DOOR, IT WILL TAKE ME A FINITE AMOUNT OF TIME TO ANSWER, USUALLY WITHIN 5-20 SECONDS (DEPENDING ON MY LOCATION WITHIN THE HOUSE)!

3A) I WILL, OF COURSE, NEVER BE IN IF YOU DONT INDICATE ME TO THE FACT YOU ARE THERE AS I DO NOT CURENTLY SUPPORT ESP!

3B) IF, AFTER INDICATING YOUR PRESENCE YOU INSTANTLY WALK AWAY FROM THE DOOR, THEN YOU WILL ALSO ASSUME I AM NOT IN AS YOU WON'T BE THERE WHEN I ARRIVE AT THE DOOR!

They probably can't read.

Plus they havent got time to read and digest all that
So no point in being wordy.

Just write big signs like:

1. KNOCK X 10 WINDOW
2. SHOUT "HELLO MR BANDITS!" x 5
3. KNOCK X 10

VirginMedia have been charging me £28 for 132Mb for the last 18 months; I've been happy with that; their service and infrastructure round here is actually very good. Am now out of contract, and it went straight up to £56. I phoned to cancel just now and the above-mentioned "Billy Bangladesh" immediately offered me £36. "No thanks". Billy went off but came straight back offering me... £28. Which I accepted. Didn't even need to get put through to Retentions! I hung up the phone 8 minutes after phoning. Some kind of record!

I do wonder whether this happened as a direct result of realistic competition for their service being available in my area.

Best they offered me was £34 from paying £28, just got off the phone to them. Told them to shove it, they have
given me a service ending date now, lets see if retentions calls me back.
Update on this. They did indeed call me back this evening.

My original price when I first signed up was £28 increased to £56 after initial 18 month term, called to tell them '
no thanks' when that increase came in. Then they made a 'best' offer of £34 a month during that call which I
refused and told them to go ahead with the cancellation process. Their call to me today has secured me £19 a month
(for the same 250MB broadband I was getting) for the next 18 months. Laughing My original contract was for 200MB
broadband and it got a boost at the 1 year mark pushing it up to 250MB, I'm very happy with the service and
download speeds and whatnot and didn't really want to change to tell you the truth. Especially to an unknown level
of service and quality so I'm chuffed I don't have to go around all my devices and change all the wifi connections etc.
They are also refunding me the overspend on this months fee which I've already paid £56 for, so my account is in
credit for another 6 weeks with no further payment until my billing date at the end of February.

I dropped my parents down to 100Mb as they don't come close to using it, 30Mb would be more than enough, but VM were pushy with price after their contract ended too.

I just moved them to Vodafone 76Mb, £20 a month and comes with their 4G backup for free which they won't even notice when it dies as 4G in that area is pretty decent, I get 20+ on my phone there so its sort of solid for them.

I still can't get more than 10Mb here so Laughing

Context needed.. Time of year (peak?), number of berths, location?
All said 1400 quid a week is pushing it I'd say.

Honestly, I thought they had called my bluff, I had a new contract for £30 a month from Vodafone for 200MB service
plus a £120 Amazon voucher all ready to pull the trigger on, as far as them having sent me the pre contracts. I
got a call the day before yesterday from an unknown London number but they rang off immediately as soon as I
answered the call which made me a little dismissive, when I checked it on https://who-called.co.uk/ and scrolled
down the comments I saw a few saying it was VM retentions from whom I was semi expecting a call about my cancellation.

Sure enough it was them and luckily enough the Scottish office. I'd have still been suspicious of Steve Patel from
Mumbai due to the worldwide reputation those people have given themselves as lying, duplicitous, untrustworthy
phone scammers and probably have hung up the call. Just like a lot of people in the comments for that phone number
had done without persevering with the call, then had labelled it on who-called as a scam phone number. An effect
hearing an Indian voice on the end of the phone has had on me many times over the years. Luck of the draw who you
get calling by the looks of it on the comments.

Bluetooth.

Specifically, why doesn't my iPhone let me assign a user-friendly nickname to the devices I connect to, like "Helmet speaker", "Car", "Bike" etc, instead of the default "POP", SYNC", "BT_USE", "KeeneExp0", "ICC6.5in" which mean absolutely nothing to me or anyone else?

The latest 'spoiled brat outburst' just confirms that he's an over entitled whimpering khunt.

And that his Jiggaboo is pulling on his tampon string.

I am very happy to say that I have managed to completely ignore the whole Harry thing. I just haven't time.

I used to like the boy, and I felt sorry for him, you would for any kid of 11 who loses his mum even in normal circumstances ... but I haven't enough energy for anyone else's drama these days.

Its all a bit meh.

I can hear the man next door through my living-room wall.
Rolling Eyes

They've obviously put his bed downstairs in the living room, cos he's pretty ancient, very fragile and probably on his last legs.
His wife is also ancient so I guess its easier to put the bed downstairs so she doesn't have to run up and down to him.

So I have a lot of sympathy cos he's a nice old chap, and his missus is lovely (feeds me curries) - but whatever the noise is that he occasionally makes (its either coughing or groaning, not sure which) - I can hear it right behind my telly Mad and its starting to do my turret in.

I'm actually sad, rather than mad.
But also quite a lot of irritated as I am trying to work from home and its quite distracting - I worry that he is crying out for help, or unable to stop coughing Sad Crying or Very sad poor old bugger.
We'll all get to that stage evetually *sigh*

Ah, the joys of London accommodation.
Mr. Green

Is it the noise a dying man makes when he's repeatedly woken up by someones telly?

It could be moans of pleasure, getting those final few wanks in before he passes to the other side. Does it happen a lot when Susanna Reid is on the telly and his wife is out?

You know that thing when you've been calling a business number all bloody day long, and it's perpetually busy?

Well, not that. Not specifically, anyway.

It's when FINALLY the call gets answered. But instead of "Hello, how can I help you?", all you hear is 2 seconds of background office noise before you get cut off.... and you call straight back, but it's busy again, and you know full well that someone in that office needed to make an outgoing call, so picked up the phone and rather than deal with you, just cleared the line and made their call.

THAT Twisted Evil

The one show.

Mentioned an outrage from people with assistance dogs not being picked up by uber.

I feel for them.

I get the same rage when they won't let me drive the bus too.
