.. maybe not your health directly, but it's bad for your wallet anyway!

SV has gone pop from oil starvation, it still works and runs but smokes a lot, seems the valve stem seals are fucked Brick Wall

Not sure if engines gotta come out or not, people on SV forum are saying it'll be cheaper to buy a new engine (second hand) but I'm going to have to try and do the job myself as I can't spare enough cash for a garage to do it or for a new engine..

SV lasted 4 weeks.. KTM lasted 4 weeks or so also.. I'm noticing a pattern? Two fucked engines doh.. Laughing I move house in 3 weeks time and have no way to move 2 engineless bikes?!?!

Why didn't I listen to the people who said DON'T wheely the SV it'll just go pop Brick Wall

Remind me never to buy a bike off you... Rolling Eyes

We need to put those bars on the back of your bike to stop you wheelying!

Uh huh.. now ya tell me Laughing

Maurice, they are good bikes to actually get up into a wheely but they go pop if you wheely them too much.. not neccesarily far but too much practicing at a time etc..

Bike is still rideable as long as I top the oil up every day Laughing but I really gotta get it sorted.. once it's fixed I'm going to sell it and get something more suitable to wheelying.. not sure what Confused ZX6r?? cbr6 ? don't know but I want something that likes to be on one wheel Laughing

Insurance would be a bit too much for me at 19 I think!

ZX6r J1 seems to be available relatively cheap for what it is.. not sure what they are like for wheelying though?

p.s. I don't care if it's got scuffed fairings and stuff.. I'll only ever use it for stunting around on as I got a car for commuting as of next month! I just need the SV to last me a few more weeks before I can fix the valve stem seals and sell it. It should be ok but might cost me a lot in oil Laughing

When Craig Jones was using a V-Twin they re-mounted the oil pick up thingy (haven't a clue what it's called) to prevent oil starvation. May want to look into doing this if you want to carry on using the SV.

Never heard of problems with inline4's, V4's are susceptible though.

yeah he runs a dry sump which is what Buell are kind of famous for having Thumbs Up they have the oil stored in the swingarm and the fuel in the frame which is at first kind of weird but at the same time I can see the benefits I think christian pfeifer runs a dry sump set up on his ducati also Very Happy
