I'd say garage security isn't a bad idea. Even though your neighborhood is safe, you never know what could happen. You won't need a complex monitoring system. Yet, a security camera and a central panel, like those from https://ohholding.com.ua/en, would be suitable. You'll feel better when you'll have access to the video images from your phone. This way, you'll be monitoring your garage even when not home. My brother installed a camera in his garage too. He has important stuff that he couldn't allow to be stolen. Luckily, there were no negative incidents.
