first of all , buy a paddock stand , this will lift the back wheel for easy maintenence ,

as for cleaning , parrafin is as good as any / wipe on /wipe off danielsan Embarassed Embarassed

then plenty of rags and dry off as best you can , lube chain thouroughly , wipe of exess with damp (parrafin) rag

dont be tempted to run engine !!!!!! while cleaning !!!!
thats asking for doctor death to pay a visit !!!

good luck

As I work in B&Q I can mention that we stock paraffin!! Its called 'Parasene' ( a compromise between the uk word paraffin and the US kerosine - both the same stuff) and is usually stocked in the garden centre sections. Works a treat at shifting sticky chain oil.

Like all petrochemicals don't smoke and wear protective gloves as it passes through skin like a sieve and builds up in the body - won't do you any good over time!
