As title. Anyone got any plans? Mainly for 600 & 650 - I expect there would be too much butchering of the bodywork on the Deauvilles!

I did have a Velorex on my old Revere years ago, and though I didn't experience any problems, over thousands of miles, with the fittings direct on to the lower front engine/ upper front frame(factory lug)/rear frame under-seat rail and lower main frame, I would like to use a frame from choice. I have a mig welder and the necessary skills to fabricate etc.

Good luck with that.
I haven't seen a combo in years though suspect there may be a few
loitering in garages or back yards.

Main reason I'd like a sub-frame is that although the fittings I u(tili)sed for the Velorex did the job well, I will hopefully putting a sports chair on which will be a bit heavier that the chassis I used. However, many a journey was made on lost baggage runs from LHR and it was quite laden!

I was going to suggest buying a used subframe then working from there but it looks like the 650s have an integral rear subframe rather than a bolt-on. Just a small rear section that holds the lights and parcel rack etc.

Looks like the deuvilles have a more traditional bolt-on subframe.

They do have a hoofting big mainstand bracket you could probably get a very large bolt through (maybe 20mm if the pivot size is similar to my VFR) and a centre rigging screw mount to take the majority of the force.

At the bottom centre of the frame was a plate spot welded each side. These plates were ground away and a large HT bolt was used for the lower rear attachment; this took most of the forces to pull the chassis.
The top front attachment was formed from 5mm thick 1" wide steel strip, formed into top-hat shape and clamped with a piece of the strip across, the assembly clamped on the curved section of frame near the steering head. The front lower attachment was fitted courtesy of an HT bolt longer enough to pass through the lower front engine bolt/frame. The rear upper attachment was clamped to the upper rear frame rail under the seat; then the left panel was left off when the chassis was in use and refitted for solo. (the chassis could be removed or refitted in about 15 mins thanks to a connection for the electrics)

In the 3 years this chassis was in use every bad weather period there was never any feeling of instability or front end shake etc. I know that should I proceed with my plans (I have a pal with an NTV650 who will let me have it) I will need to design and fabricate a subframe as my previous arrangement was a bit 'Heath-Robinson' and although it worked well, I realise that it would probably not now pass muster at a roadside inspection! I just wish I had taken pics of the fittings for posterity and giggles.

It's been years since I've seen let alone played with a sidecar.
I did recall it's more involved than just bolting the fecker on
with rusty angle iron and bolts though.

Out of curiosity I did a quick google and found this interesting page
and they have a gallery page showing various bike setups too

Thanks - seen all their stuff, very good and informative. Also I've had many chats in the past with Rod Young of 3 Wheels Better. It may all come to nothing but I'm keeping my options open!
