I've rebuilt my CZ125 into a CZ175. On initial assembly it seemed fine but a few minutes after the crank flywheels seemed to be binding badly. I managed to get it free and there seemed to be a fair bit of threebond sealant over the flywheel. It's been 100% free ever since. Bearings were all seated properly. Any idea if this is anything to worry about or is is too much sealant the likely cause at the time? Just loathe to strip it all down again.

Personally I'd strip it back down and check everything again. It's not that much of a pain to strip something so basic and you'll kick yourself if you grenade the engine for want of a days work.

If it is the sealant (and I really doubt it) then surely you want to check it hasn't got anywhere else and if it isn't the sealant? well, something else is wrong and you need to find it.

I THINK it may have actually been the crank centering. I'll take the head off again and check the distance between the flywheels and the cases I guess to be sure

Aye, check there are not witness marks in case the flywheel has been rubbing on any proud sections of the crankcase. If it's anything like my Jawa was, they weren't big on removing casting marks, seams and sprues off the alloy.

Seems OK now. Very gently centred it a bit more as it was a little too far against the dynamo side of things. Got amount 1mm or so of space either side now.
