£4.5k is about a middle of the range price, got to go over £10k to be really damn expensive.
Why? If you want the latest and greatest of every single component then that's gonna cost ya.
That £4.5k bike... let's say £1k on the frame, £800 on the forks, £400 for the rear shock, £500 for the wheels, £400 on the groupset (that's the chain, cranks, front chainring, cassette which is the gears on the back wheel, rear derailleur which is the thing that changes gears, gear shifter and the necessary cable), £350 on the brakes, £70 on the tyres, handlebars and stem £75, seat £40 and last but by no means least a seatpost say £200 for an average ish one. That gives us a grand total of £3,825.
That's all going to be run of the mill stuff with nothing especially new or amazing. If you wanted to add in the very latest groupset then that's going to set you back a staggering £2,355.00
Modern tech is expensive for the companies to produce and before they can do that they have to spend lots of hours of research and design. Within a few years, the current latest and greatest tech will have trickled down from being only for professional riders or well paid dentists to the middle of the market within reach of the average cycling enthusiast.
The £4,500 bike you saw does not include pedals and they also wouldn't be included with a £10k bike. |

I bought a second hand eighties PUCH Alpine five speed off gumtree for twenty quid as a fixer upper just before lockdown. Ive done a cracking job of stripping back and respraying the frame but it needs new wheels really and at that point i ground to a halt. However the nice frame looks quite cool as an ornament in my living room. |

Managed to get an Asus 1050Ti for the boys PC for £65 on Ebay, just need to get it picked up. Should be ideal for him, as his monitor is only a 1080p panel anyway.
Amazing how easy it is to fall down the rabbit hole and find yourself looking at replacing everything, . ____________________ TS50 > Senda 125 > ZXR400 > CB-1 > GSX-R1000 > Bandit 600 > ZXR750 H1 > GSX-R750 SRAD > '98 Fireblade > T595 Daytona > Hornet 900 > '04 Fireblade > GSX-S1000F (x2) > '23 XSR900 |

Waterproof connectors for my bike. Cheap as chips on amazon, 10x 2-way and 10x 3-way for less than £15. ____________________ a.k.a 'Geri'

Baby plum tomatoes and grated parmesan. I have a mate over this evening for a spot of dinner, I don't have many
visitors, almost none so it's always a pleasure to cook for someone, I'm pretty handy in the kitchen. Tonight is a minced
beef and bacon Bolognese served with spaghetti and cheese and garlic ciabbatta. My buddy is bringing his golden retriever
Jasper over so I get some sorely missed doggo time too. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

Had a lovely evening last night, I drank a few too many beers possibly but we had an awesome made from scratch
spag bol, my friends dog who has only met me once previously was very comfortable being at my house which pleased
me greatly, I had bought him some dog treats and a kong toy which i filled with peanut butter so he'd feel welcome
too. Slightly less awesome was the huge amount of long blonde dog hair I had to hoover up this morning, but it was
worth it. I was surprised he seemed to remember me even though we'd only met once before and was comfortable
straight away. My buddy also told me he and his Mrs are expecting which I'm delighted to hear, he's a really sound bloke
and he'll be a great dad. Really pleased for them both. ____________________ Currently enjoying products from Ford, Mazda and Yamaha

A haircut. Removing hair well over a foot long Had enough of my scalp condition and think much shorter
hair is the only way to fix it. Posting while I’m waiting for my time in tje chair.
