So I've been out of the biking fraternity for a few years now and today I planned my return after buying a '98 Honda Hornet CB600F

I've been looking for a bike for a few months and couldn't resist when I saw this beauty.

Picking it up on Saturday, it will be my first time in the saddle for about 10 years, I'm a tad apprehensive, but looking forward to it.

Funnily enough, my old bike had a tank cover on, but the tank was in great condition underneath. I removed it as it was the wrong colour and I didn't have the bag to fit it.

I'll be sure to check this out though I'm sure it'll be fine and it comes with the bag.

It's gonna outsell MT07 this year if they have plenty of units available right away or with minimum delay. If they're
suffering the same delay between order and delivery as Yamaha are then maybe not. Can't argue it's a great spec for
the dough and it's reviewing well, it even sounds alright. Another one on my radar is the ZX4RR 400cc 4 pot. Looks brill.
sensible money and 150mph from a 400. Impressive.

and a 15000 redline apparently Shocked
had a go on an FZR400 back in the day, was a fun bike. not much bigger than a 125 with some grin inducing power.

I had the tank cover off and it's like it's brand new underneath, looks like the cover has been on it the whole 25 years!

Apologies, I didn't realise I'd had replies.

It's been a great bike, lots of fun rides over the summer, even had my GF on it, her first motorcycle pillion experience.

My 15 Yr old son too, he was very reluctant but loves it, he wants a bike now, have you any idea how hard it is to find a geared 50cc, it's shocking!

One slight issue with the old hornet, it seems it doesn't generate enough charge to have the lights on.
It's making about 11.5v with lights on and about 13v without, so I'm guessing the regulator rectifier is goosed.

I had a quick search on here and it seems others have had similar problems with them.

I'm tempted to get the Haynes manual and do it myself.
Thinking I'll get it ready to be stored over the winter as I don't want it to get scrapped up with all the salt from the roads and it's not needed for daily transport, just to entertain me.

Regulator Rectifier units are a common fail since they need to be in an exposed spot to dissipate heat.
Relatively inexpensive and once you find correct one will probably be an easyish thing to change yourself.

My mrs has one, surprisingly nippy, although its very snatchy on low revs, hopefully something they sort out on first service

I bought a bandit 650 privately one night, c*nt filters freshly fitted so it wouldn't run on 4 cylinders and was ripe for a price kicking but I got caught by the bagster cover-up and the tank was well scraped

withing a few days there was a mint tank in the right colour on fleabay for £80, sold the damaged tank for £60 and the bagster cover for another £60, kerching!

Actually the Rebel is a lot of fun except pegs are quite low, scraping gives me the paranoia of death soon.. It's a keeper for now. I owe too much on HP to sell it. Especially since it got blown over and tank dented ever so slightly.

The 1100 looks good and on a power to weight ratio could match most cruisers. I quite fancy a go to check out the DCT. Automatic is the way to go.

500 has no fucking Rev counter wtf. 1100 does.
