Right guys,
I'm gonna do it, fuck it, I'm getting a loan at the end of this month!
I want you to suggest a bike to me!
This will be the first time I've been on the roads, and I plan to do an intensive course, so nothing too powerful! Want something close to 33bhp (probably around 45 would do nicely)
I like sports bikes with VTwin engines, or high revving 250 4 strokes.
I also like older bikes, like end of the 80's early 90's, or the very new bikes! Not too keen on mid 90's!
Bikes I like:
SV650
FZR400/250
GSXR400
CBR400
NSR125
So, judging by the fact I won't have any experience, what would you guys recommend?
I'm hard up for cash, so I want a decent bike and the test done!
Thanks very much,

I'm looking to spend about 1500, providing I get a 3000 loan
Yeah I like semi naked bikes as well like bandits, sv's etc, I don't drive a car, no, I have very little road experience.
Cheers

I would guess that £1500 would limit you to an early to mid 90's 400. Although you would get an early 90's bandit 600 etc. Or mid 90's sports (which you don't like). Don't reckon you'd get an SV for that money.
Pick a 400, ride it for a year or two then upgrade (if you need to). 400 is more than enough to scare yourself. Insurance should be OK too. 125? I wouldn't bother on a full licence. Get a 400. Loads of fun without breaking the bank. Just take it easy at first.
(Should add that I prefer 400 sports to naked 600's so I'm bias).
Got a SV650 at the mo and I want my ZXR4 back. |
