It's hard to look at the time on your phone whilst cycling.

There's also the element of exclusivity, which is probably the reason why most people buy them: because they can.

Once upon a time I was interested in shiney things, now I couldn't give a toss.. Function over form suits me now. I have (almost) nothing of any value save my VW Camper which might be worth 10K, even the car is lease. My bikes are worth no more that 1500 (FZ) possibly less..

..on the other hand I have modest house that's paid for and a few quid in a pension fund... Perhaps I'm the Scotsman!

Ok, it wasn't the actual last thing that I bought, but it was the last big purchase other than a liter of petrol. 2023 plate 6.7 miles on the clock BMW R1250 GS Adventure TE with loads of extras. I can now invade Poland in comfort and avoid dirty things in style. No I wont take this bike off road, although I may take my other GS Adventure into the dirty bits.

One of my regular gaming buddies has a broken controller, after last nights session and watching him consistently
balls up due to stick drift and one half functioning button, I decided to send him a brand new PS4 controller with
an attractive camo pattern. Hopefully it will be with him in a day or two.

He and his missus have a couple of young kids and they soak up all of his spare cash. A few hours gaming twice
a week are his only escape from 3 daughters, the ex 'wife' he had his first kid with and the current missus. Me and
him have been friends for over 20 years. Least I could do. He was getting properly wound up with his inability
to pilot an Avenger last night due to his borked controller rather than a lack of ability to fly the damn thing.

I've fixed a couple of these lately, it's not that difficult but the PS4 controller can be difficult to put back together, particularly the way the finger pad goes in.

A good squirt of contact cleaner right in the pots usually does it. Worst case they need new ones, I've got spare pots so PM me if you want any.

A Delkevic stainless exhaust system and a vacuum brake bleeding system - having used the traditional method with complete success all these years I thought I'd give one a try.
