Knew a lass that worked for adidas back in the 90s. She got me 3 pairs of trainers using her staff discount.

They served me fine but now are pretty much flappy bits of fabric.

Recently bought 3 more pairs which may see me out (I don't wear trainers very often).

A pair in Blue and some snazzy limited edition ones and these.

Also in the 90s I bought a Leatherman. It being one of my better purchases and they repaired it twice after I'd used it as a hammer.
That old one is now in the glovebox.

The new one is on the way.

In other news, my latest purchase was a new Motobatt for the bike.

At school there was a kid’s big brother that worked at the Adidas factory The rejected trainers were slashed with a blade and lobbed into a skip. Whistle

Mums sewed up the cut and most kids wore the limited Adidas Slash editions.

Bags of sand are on special offer at B&Q.

I have a fancy cantilever parasol but it didn't come with any base weights so I've been filling up a set with sand this afternoon with a scoop and a funnel, took several hours*

*Beer may have been involved.

^^^Filling with water not an option? Then again... Having beer and scooping in sand sounds better to me.

It most definitely is but then you forget about them over winter Sad Plus sand is a bit heavier than water by volume.

I've got a wave. I've also been threatened by police who stopped me for a traffic check that it's an illegal weapon to carry due to the locking blade. Rolling Eyes

They said they would be very nice and not prosecute me if I surrendered the 'weapon'. Cvnts.

That's funny I broke out a brand new pair of suede Adidas trainers last week that according to the receipt were
bought in 2018. The current pair of Puma suede have been in service since 2019 and although wearable still
they look well worn in and sometimes you want to wear something with a little less patina.

I have my job as a valid reason should they ask. As for the one in the glovebox...well I'll cross that bridge should it happen....and I very much doubt it will.

I am thinking of getting those new fangled trainers that are shaped like your foot and not symmetrical like normal shoes:

I have been in vivo barefoot shoes for 2 years since I had some foot tendon issues. Feels very weird going back to normal shoes now.

What do these have over thin-soled trainers like Vans?

I am not a shoe expert but the soles on some of these are incredibly thin. Some of them, you can crumple an entire shoe into your palm.

Also lifetime warranty that a friend of mine has claimed on. I have 3 pairs and they are the only shoes I wear 99.9% of the time and haven't needed to claim yet.

Also, Vans were the choice of the discerning 80s BMXer. Cool

I was about to shell out for another pair of hi-top sk8r Vans. The Vivos are twice the price but my last pair of Vans hasn't held up half as well as the previous pair.

What really puts me off are the company's eco-credentials. I don't need to feel any more smug than I already am Laughing

Years ago I had a pair of olive green suede Airwalk skate shoes. I wish I'd bought 20 pairs, best things I've ever
had on my feet, especially to drive in. Can't even find a pic of them, think I bought them in Romford Debenhams.

I just kinda thought they would be comfier since they are made for the natural shape of your foot and not squashing your toes

Out of necessity, a pair of flexible indicator stalks as the nearside rear has split.
I'm fairly certain the MOT tester would take a dim view of a floppy stalk.

Mine just said "That's a jaunty angle" and moved on. It was working which is all the MOT requires.

Nothing a bit of self amalgamating tape couldn't sort though. Laughing

Why I no think of this? To be fair, it's 50/50 as to which tester I get. One is chilled but the other is a bit picky.
Advisories get on my tits.

A sausage roll and a cappucino from Gails on the Kings Road. Then I sat out in the fresh air enjoying them and watching London go by. Very civilised.
