Hi everyone,
I have a 1990 NS125R fully faired, and derestricted with a full DEP pipe.

I have managed to get 120mph out of it, has anyone else managed this?? I don't know how this bike is so fast!!

Please reply and tell me what speeds youve had out of your NS125R or NSR125 or NSR125F.

Cheers,
boyceyyz250

Not necessarily, it will be an indicated 120, closer to 105 MPH, which is quite possible for that type of bike.

Between me and my friends, we had just about every 125 sports bike, the fastest I've seen is 115. I was on my KR1S and my mate was on his Gilera 125, his speedo read just under 120, mine showed 115, and he said he was at red line.

Another mate with an NSR125 got 110 at redline. 125's 'really' struggle over 100.

Yeah, someone was on the other day and said they had seen 120 on the speedo, was really closer to the ton.

Weight disadvantage/bulk-less aerodynamic/more to push through the air with a similar power output.

I had a TZR 125, slightly over sized piston, Carbon reeds, jets, Arrow pipe or something etc etc.
It sounded like it was going to blow up at 90mph and that was ragging it.

I’ve heard my VFR will do 130 maybe more, can the NSR really do 120mph!!?!?

Hahahah the good old tzr125 I had one of those blew 3 pistons in it and had 90 out of it down hill with the wind behind me laying on my tank lol! Good fun bike for messing on tho.

I have seen an rs50 do 75mph I can believe a 125 can do 120ish baring in mind you can have bike re geared for top speed!!!!

who cares you can only go 70mph on uk roads so any faster would be on a private road ofcorse Twisted Evil
though the top speed of the NSR 125 was 105mph? owell im sure you could settle this by sticking 1 on a dyno or something (mabe fixing a better speedo)

I'm not so sure this re gearing thing matters too much. End of the day once a 125 gets to around the hundred mark its starts to come into power to areodynamic ratios. And it will loose.....everytime.

My CX will do 90 then the fact that its shaped like a fence comes in to it! And its 4 times the power of my NSR. 110 plus on a 125......yea down a hill with a tail wind and with your face pressed up against the tank!

Thumbs Up

Hi

Not a hope that an NS will do 120mph. Flat level ground and fully derestricted it would manage a bit over a true 90mph. The speedos on them were well know for over reading. They are a mid to late 80s designed 125, and not the quickest when new. The original Aprilia AF1 would take them happily and that had a road test top speed of 94mph.

I have managed 115mph on level ground out of my RS125. Indicated. Reality probably 105mph or so.

All the best

Keith

Ive had this disscussion once before, And we had a qucik test to prove it. I konw a lad who kept bragging that his aprillia rs125 went to 120+mph, so I though if this was the case then surely it would beat my 33bhp VFR400 NC30?? So onto the motorway we hop. he's going flat out behind the screen making my ears bleed with the stupidly loud exhaust can he had on there. arrow i think?. anyway he was going flat out almost on the redline with me along side him at 105mph still pulling. I went past him upto 110mph and slowly went away into the distance.

I had an indicated 105mph on a 2000 model NSR125. Only did it once, mind.

Isnt the actual record for a mini-moto around 90? Sure it was on the TV a while ago.
