On and off I follow some Austrian School economists - what a depressing bunch - and they keep muttering that there's nowhere else for the debt to go at this point now it's piled up in government bonds. The suggestion is that ETFs will be mandated buy up more government debt "hey, man, it's for like, safety or something. bonds always pay out, always! it's like no government has every defaulted ever, trust me bro! "Soft default?" What's that?! You're making shit up..."
Anyhoo, stealing money is easy - "money printer go brrrrrr!" - but there's still plenty of value tied up in companies' hard assets so the next big play will be to syphon all that out. ____________________ Husqvarna Vitpilen 401, Yamaha XSR700, Honda Rebel, Yamaha DT175, Suzuki SV650 (loan) Fazer 600, Keeway Superlight 125, 50cc turd scooter |

Pay thrice? We already paid to free their ancestors to the tune of £20 million... in 1830s money, a debt only paid off in 2015. Maybe they should go after the West African nations who made a fortune selling their brothers into slavery, which in some cases saved them from being human sacrifices.
But don't worry we'll be getting our reparations for Brits and other Europeans captured and enslaved in North Africa as part of the Barbary slave trade, right? |

The Great British Bake Off scraps national-themed weeks after criticism
Jesus fcuking wept.
After Mexican week, there were accusations of casual racism and stereotypes because the hosts wore sombreros, used maracas and spoke in Spanish accents.
So the Sombrero isn't a Mexican national item of clothing etc.
Heaven forbid they do a Scottish week and all pretend to be pissed and making deep fried mars bars. Wee Willie will rise from her political grave and demand immediate reparations because we hurt Scottish feelings.

As someone who is often sympathetic to the plight of his fellow man/woman/in-between, I can honestly say that people who do this sort of thing to stay in the public eye need to be put up against a wall and shot.
