Got my 1st bike coming - Tracer 700. Age old question coming up for you guys probably.

Is there an easy way to get both headlights to come on instead of just the one?

Best advice i've seen so far is adjust the angle down and run full beam all the time - but then you got no actual full beam.

The "best" solution would be to run dual-element bulbs in parallel* but that might also mean beefing up the wiring, fuses and switching relay (if present.)

How are your electrical skills?

*Not sure if the glass/reflectors are slightly different between the left & right headlights.

Not bad but I usually take about 10 times longer to do such jobs than I plan for.

I'm thinking of a much simpler form-over-function solution here. I dont need the 'off' lamp to function as a headlight, but merely give the appearance of one. While retaining full beam capability.

Just an aesthetics thing but it'll also stop the, "Oi mate, you got a light out" that i'm very likely to get.

I had a Yamaha Thundercunt. I almost remember they have a diode/jumper somewhere under the instrument clusterfuck that could be swapped between pins to bring both lights on.

I could be talking shite though. It was before the war.

Assume you mean a Thunderace rather than Thundercat, since the latter only has one headlight?

To OP, the main beam light will not have a beam pattern cut off so will always be dazzling when on, regardless of aim.

Cum to think of it, it wasn't the Thundercunt it was the Triumph Sprint that had the option to change.
And it wasn't even a diode or a jumper.
It only needed another miniature relay plugged into a spare lighting receptacle under the instrument cluster.

It was accessible with ones sleeve rolled up and watch removed.

Ah c'mon, a ride isn't a ride unless someone comes up and tells you you have a bulb out. Laughing I always say "cheers mate"
even though it isn't true just so I don't have to have a conversation with a non bike type person.

More to the point you don't have the beam pattern cutoff that's required to make it legal. Dip beam is more than just a lamp pointed lower.

Yes, forumite said to raise them back to normal for MOT. Not an ideal solution.

Stupid solution TBH especially coming into winter. Dark and wet roads, oncoming riders with spray-soaked visors could do without some fool with high beams wiping out their vision as it glares off the wet road.

Original Fazer 600.. just a wire link so both H4s main beamed at teh same time IIRC. Nothing ever go hot.

Even with the R125 I was rebuilding "only one side's working!" It is fucking tiresome.
