Hello,
I spend quite a bit of time outside of the UK, its usually Mon-Thu in Europe for work or the occasional holiday.
I spend a lot of evening watching TV on my tablet, usually stuff on Netflix that I have downloaded or Prime.
Years ago, I used to have a Draytek Vigor router and could connect to my home network and by doing so, could then surf using my local Halifax IP address. (It was a bit shxt, but it worked).
Fast forward at least 13 years, I'm looking to do so again. I want to be able to VPN to my home. (Basically so I can watch Jungle whilst in Hamburg ffs and not to have the restricted list on Prime).
I'm on Virgin Media, I am wanting recommendations on a home router that will do this, I know I'll need to put the Virgin router in to modem mode.
Ideally I want a VPN solution that I can use on my android tablet. i.e. I connect to my home VPN, then I run ITV, Prime etc
Can anyone recommend a router. ( I'm not interersted in a UK VPN service, I want to access and surf out of my own line).
Any help appreciated. ____________________ I've a twin and a 4. |

Seems backwards, but I'd just grab a cheap ASUS router, install Merlin and do it that way if you really want to route across the internet.
You won't need modem mode if you want to just VPN in, just pop it behind the router or DMZ it/port forward. Yolo.
Surfshark would be better and probably cheaper over 4 years
Exposing anything to the net just doesn't sit well with me these days. |
