Why is Facebook ‘recommending for you’ an article from The Worthing Journal about some arts & crafts stall when I have no connection with the town, I live >100 miles away and don’t care for seaside tat?

Tempted to jack Facebook in. It’s all adverts except for the rare passive connection with old acquaintances who have nearly forgotten I exist.

Knob and his wif next door, never worked, apparently too disabled, but can run up and down ladders and bang wood all day, little shit.

Anyway, they tried to get themselves knocked over so that they could be a victim and get a pay out. Tried jumping in front of the bike just as I was pulling up, one had to have a little scurry so that she could almost get in front.

I'm just waiting for the police to turn up, as that's their usual ploy to be a victim. Doesn't work though as the police and council have cottoned on to them.

Had a small sink hole open up in front of my house the other week, good job I reported it and the council were out within 40 minutes otherwise they would have claimed that they had fallen down it for the compensation. Little fuckers just need shooting.

I think its time video evidence of their DIY activities was submitted to the relevant authorities.

Get yourself the Facebook Purity extension and configure it to display what you want to see and hide the shite.

I'm a bit annoyed.
With myself mostly, I think.

I've got this funny feeling the military type is getting too attached to me, and I'm not sure I can cope with it.

I was gonna do a whole Teflon Mike thing about it, but the bottom line is...
Nope! Putting it back in the "too hard" basket *sigh*

Bostik flashband. It comes in various widths and is superb stuff. Use a hot air gun and some sort of small roller to apply.

I get a similar sense when I set off home after work. I park in a free, public area and at night there are always, what is the best way to put it, 'fur coat and no knickers' cars like 15 year old Mercs and Audis with blacked out windows, pink and blue lighting and a smell like a Rasta's pocket. I always get the sense that one of them will deliberately drive their car behind me as I reverse, then accuse me of causing an accident. I imagine I would then be threatened into paying a 'garage' to repair their car... A part of me wants the confrontation as I in my own mind I would accuse them of causing the accident, call the police and they would be taken away thus ridding the planet of a few more air-thieves. Then reality kicks in as I see that there are loads of them, and sadly a Court would have to take the testimony of many over the testimony of one.

Why you no reverse into the parking spot and then drive straight out?

I recall hear some ex-MI5 security bod on the radio saying you always back into a space as you never know when you need a quick getaway Smile

He also said you shouldn't hook your thumbs around the steering wheel as they'll get broken in a crash Laughing

There is some logic to it. For example when offroad driving its recommended to have your thumbs on the wheel not in the wheel so that if you hit something that twists your steering unexpectedly you wont get your thumbs caught and buggered up.

Ive heard people say they knew they were gunna crash a motorbike and decided to take their thumbs over the bars before impact too to save them, but I reckon thats more likely to just be 5 pints of beer and a rather rote tinted heroic memory than an actual thought process during a crash.

I was taught to always reverse in and drive out. You get maximum visibility of traffic in both directions but more importantly when driving out into traffic.

The thumb thing makes sense too. If you lose control and the wheel spins it'll do so with some force. The version I heard was never put your thumb over the spokes though.

Clarkson did actually break his thumb when he deliberately crashed a volvo into a brick wall. Anyone who has driven an old landrover with no power steering offroad will attest to the value of keeping your thumbs out of the wheel.

F1 drivers let go of the steering and hold their arms tight across their body when they know they can't avoid a big crash.

The main reason for driving into a space and reversing out at a supermarket is so you have easy access to the boot with your trolley of goodies. It doesn't follow good driving practice but it is convenient.

Hawn Caw'd engines. (Turned over by a starting handle)

They invariably 'kick back' when they fire. Sometimes in the wrong direction.
If one wraps one's hand around the starting handle, the kick back will really hurt.

It's non-intuitive to just hold the handle using four fingers but it doesn't feel as bad as ripped thumb tendons/ligaments.

The main idea is to always bring a big stupid bastirt with you.
Fake not being strong enough to birl the engine over and let Desperate Dan have his moment/s of glory.
