Having completed (mostly) the transplant of teh GP100 (disk brake - woo!) front end to the A100 Im shocked by the flex in the forks..
..only the bottom yoke has pinch bolts and I have not yet got a mudguard fitted. I'm assuming that the degree of 'twist' is normal and will be fixed by bracing with a mudguard - otherwise it would be unrideable I reckon. ____________________ Now: A100, SRX250, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000

Those steel mudguards or the steel inserts in plastic ones do a lot of bracing.
I presume the top yoke is a taper fit so it won't cinch down until the top-caps are tightened down fully ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”
I did the 2010 Round Britain Rally on my 350 Bullet. 89 landmarks, 3 months, 9,500 miles. |

Ha, the A100 seems quite solid at the back.. Still like moped but in the main beefier I think. ____________________ Now: A100, SRX250, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000

My installaton has left out the original headlight brackets and associated rubber grommets/seals..that cushion teh bracket form the yokes.
Hard to see how these could help avoid teh twisting though..
... I may fabricate soem kind of brace and order a mudguard. ____________________ Now: A100, SRX250, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000

This is the issue - seems these are needed to clamp the top yoke securely.. ____________________ Now: A100, SRX250, XJ598, FZ750, SL1000
