hello all.
I have a strange feeling in my undercrackers, and it is telling me to plump for an early, cheap 600 bandit. ( to get the feel of bigger bikes )
One question... What can i do to put it on a diet??
As they seem to be a bit on the lardy size.
Oh and before the bLandit comments, i'm 17, skint, and I want something I can't break, plus Carole nash only want 189 quid to add it on my policy.
Thanks everybody ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |

Firstly throw the tiny engine in the bin as you can run quicker, then strip all the paint off and finally fill the tyres with Helium gas and there you go, 1 instantly lighter 600 ArseBandit. |

I wouldn't worry about the weight too much, tbh. (unless you're an 8 stone weakling)
I found with mine, the only time I really noticed the weight was pushing it around in car parks.
They're good bikes for what they are. Not the most powerful or flashiest bike about, but they can be chucked about OK, are reliable (if poorly finished) and the engines okay for most of the time(bit gutless when you're pushing it, but they can be thrashed without too many worries).
I had mine for years, and it could still put a grin on my face. Wish I still had it as a winter hack actually but it got a bit bent last winter |

After a 125, I'm pretty sure it won't seem gutless.
So the opinions are divided
Are they fun bikes to ride? Will I still be able to prat around and stunt?
And I'm 11 and a bit stone.... ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |

Thanks splinter
I'm going to take a visit to a few bike shops, and have a play.
The idea of this bike is not to get a too nice one, i just need a bigger bike, and to get used to the feel of them. My dad has told me that all the weight goes once you are moving.
Then I've only got to concentrate on getting tarty bits
What's the cheapest end of the scale for Bandits? And should I worry about high mileage?

errrrr... no.
Anyway, I've changed my mind, after going pillion on a restricted in line 4.
I'm now getting, or looking to get an sv650s. Not one from the likes of yams, however.
Time to spend all of my hard earned dosh.
So if anyone has a sv for 2k ish, let me know!!!
Oh, and they're lighter than bandits.... and theres still enough tarty bits to buy. Any thoughts?
Thanks for the comments everybody. ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |

Look on autotrader or mcn and you could definitly get one for 2kish but it would be a 2000 one personally i dont like the old shape but still definitly more pretty that the bandit.

SV is a good choice for a first bike. I've not actually ridden one but I have sat on a couple and made brrm, brrm noises
They are a lot lighter than the Bandit, less power but probably quicker.
I've heard the finish isn't too good on them, but that would apply to the Bandit too.
Have fun whichever you choose |

Fun is the aim of the game
As long as it's not yellow.
I've found so many sv's, decent distance away, good price and then... OH LOOK IT'S BLOODY YELLOW
Then I can be all noisy again....
Well thans for the input everyone, let me know if you have any tips, or better choices, or free mint condition zero miled sv's you wish to give away... ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |
