Damn that place gets gunked.

Went at it with degreasers, toothbrushes, scrapers etc. Still not fully clean. Good degrease of the chain though. Looking shiny. Finished with a waxy-shampoo wash. That didn't shift much either so had to get scrubbing.

Must've been out there for about 6 hours total. Got a burnt bald head. Would've rather been up in mid-wales.

I find gold old fashioned paraffin and a stiff paintbrush is best for that, having first removed the heavy-duty yak with a scraper of some sort.

Yes will go for that next time. My engine degreaser was shite. Some sort of flexy-handled wire brush would probably be good too.

You can also wash the paraffiny muck off off with a hosepipe then go over it again.
