Battlax S23 GT tyres on a Tracer 700 - overkill?

Do have to carry a 90Kg pillion all over the continent.

What makes you think they might be overkill?
The GT types usually have that hard wearing compound in the centre and a slightly stiffer carcass.

Aye most modern tyres have the dual compound/harder centre even my old road pilot 4's. Yes to the stiffer carcass/sidewalls. Think they've an extra strip in them.

Does say for heavier tourers so probably wont be so nippy and handle so well when i'm solo blasting the lanes? Unless 2000 miles of Europe softens them up a bit. Might be a touch warm aswell looking at the forecast!

You'll be good and once you lose the pillion that Tracer 700 will feel like a sporty bike agin. Some Racetec RR's would be ideal for the really quick riders but SportsTouring tyres are good enough for race schools plus more than enough rubber for another 4k after your return.

I liked the AngelGT. A quick turn-in kind of feeling. The Roadsmarts were similar but weared faster than expected. The Pilot Road range are the average of the ones I tried. Reminds me....PR Gts on my bike really need changing.

Have fun and may your screen be covered in flies. Thumbs Up

Tyres softening up? New one on me and wouldn't want a tyre to change.
