Search for missing Jay Slater enters ninth day

Just reading the press releases (no danger of any journalism with the BBC) at the very least this kid's an idiot. "I missed my bus so I'll go on a 10hr hike with no water and a phone with a flat battery." Go back to town, get some breakfast, get the next bus.

Google maps rates it as at least 11hrs starting at sea level and ending up 1200 metres in elevation Shocked

Is this gonna be another one of these "bring home my angle!" scenarios?

Without hearing the full story slating him is a bit premature even though it what they are saying he has done is rather idiotic.

Why was he on his own? I thought he was on holiday with friends? When I was his age and went off with mates we did everything togather (except that Whistle )

If he had no money or had been robbed etc. Go to cop shop and ask for help.

It's not looking good for him though.

Back story, he was convicted of a machete/golf club attack, along with 7 others in his gang, that ended up with a guy with a broken skull, also mentions of low level drug dealing

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13565477/Have-respect-Man-badly-wounded-2021-machete-attack-gang-including-missing-Brit-Jay-Slater-tells-internet-sleuths-help-revealed-Tenerife-cops-probing-19-year-olds-criminal-past-relevant.html

So yeah, a "prefect little angle"

For some reason I'm not seeing the link in your original post. Tweaked the codes in case others have the same problem.

"Fly high my angle" "He carried his Nan's shopping" "Promising career ahead of him" what else should we have on the bingo card?

Yep, these details are somewhat lacking in the MSM coverage

Current theories doing the rounds on the socials are drug deal gone wrong, also speculation the Go Fund Me could be some sort of debt settlement (for his release) or as a going away present when he is suddenly found in a bar in Los Cristianos

Who'd have thunk?

Jay's newfound 'friend' certainly lives up to the stereotype!

I'm sure this fella has nothing to do with poor Jay's disappearance. The people above them in the drug gang pecking order is who the police need to talk to.

The facebook groups offering "helpful" advice are fucking hilarious and well worth a look if you're in need of a laugh. Full of the usual council estate bored single mothers chipping in with wisdom such as:

https://i.imgur.com/pjwmBod.png

Im sure Chantelle Mary-Lou-Bethany-Anne, 21, 4 kids, Live Love Laugh, fuck my babbyfadda, has so much valid input in remote search and rescue, why havent the police flown her out there to lead the search?

Go with Tracey's comment, collect all the flairs you can find, put them in a big pile and burn them. What's that you say, some oick's gone AWOL? Laughing

According to his mum hes kissed granny goodnight etc. etc. and was the nicest boy ever. I really doubt that though.

Poor Jay's family are desperately appealing for funds to give him 'the send off that he deserves':-
Give us more money....Loads of it.

TBF repatriating a body isn't a trivial thing. Sixty bags though... is this send off into space on a Musk Missile?!

Surely those costs would be borne by his insurance company, wouldn't they?

I was wondering whether the British Embassy would repatriate in these circumstances.

Apparently word had got out about his criminal background so the locals were, not surprisingly, unusually reluctant to join in the search.

£60k sounds like one hell of a wake.
