Lets get stuck in.

Had this bike since 2013 mostly kept in a garage until I want to ride. as a 125cc she's done 32k, well serviced. then the issues start.

removed spark plug, tip was Brown/grey, the stem of the SP was saturated in what I can only believe is oil, replaced it!

that alone got me thinking if the piston rings had worn down as my last oil change there was less then 500ml oil in that engine from around 1.2L in the past service!

Here's the biggest mind f*ck, the engine is hard to start, throttle has to be open 50% for it to actually get going (to which the engine idles at 1k RPM), thats the only symptom I'm working off as the engine performance (once bike idles) is unchanged bike still lurches forward like it should and there no smoke from the exhaust that I need to worry about. engine does back fire on changing down gears but that's down to a stubby exhaust.

some bikes in the past that I've owned shown all symptoms yet this bike is just confusing, is it the piston ring or is the bike running rich as f*ck.

Burning oil is usually either stuck/worn/broken rings or leaking valve stem oil seals. Potentially a blocked crankcase breather. Valve stem seals usually only smoke on the over-run so you'd need someone following you to see it. 2 pints of oil is a fair bit to go missing so it's either being burned through the engine or leaking out of the bike. You'd probably see a leak of that magnitude because there would be all all over the engine.

Regards the starting thing, I'm less able to help because I don't know much about fuel injected bikes. What I do know is they have a variety of sensors that can cause fault conditions. I don't know how sophisticated your FI system is to see if it can display/allow reading of fault codes. One thing they often don't like is a messed about with exhaust.

Have a look in the airbox, firstly to check the filter is clean and in good order, second to check it's not full of oil.

Took a good look in the airbox and it's safe to say that gone. To which looking at the carb and seeing things I shouldn't be seeing, in the process of cleaning it but I don't know if the damage has already been done. If not I'll have to pay for someone to have a look! Least the carbs now clean.
