Got a set off clothing i'm happy with & i don't want my (doro) phone, my keys (huge wad) & my wallet (not so huge wad) sticking in my chest whenever I breathe.

Bum bags are toss. I like the idea of a leg bag but they're always too big, & I don't want a load of keys stuck in my leg should i come off.

Can you suggest (your) decent alternatives & a few links too please.

Your help is appreciated.

I use a small rucksack. What's wrong with a bum bag. Are they out of fashion?

Women have handbags, men have courier bags. Might suffice but probably too big for your needs.

The bum-bags have evolved, now replaced by this:

The chest or sling bag. Not at all gay if you get it in khaki or desert drab Wink

I decided my ever-present 30L rucksack was too hot yet mostly empty on this Summer’s rides so I tried a Kavu mini rope bag. Not too noticeable on the bike, which is good. There’s a bigger size and lots of colours.

The small lomo leg bag is pretty compact.

If you don't want the stuff attached to you, just get a small tank bag.

Keys - split your massive bunch keep what you need in trouser front pocket RHS, Phone LHS, Wallet rear arse pocket - done.

They are inclined to let go at fastener or stitching, I suppose depends how much you spend I never feel comfortable with relatively important stuff like phone or wallet in one depending on only one not-very-strong strap.

My other half re stitched an old helmet bag and created a small pouch just big enough for keys wallet and phone. It fits under the seat of each of my bikes and makes sure I don’t lose anything out of the various holes in the undertrays.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Givi tank lock bag.

Backpacks are shit, always too hot on your back or straps flapping everywhere or getting caught in the wind.

Pockets on bike kit tend to be absolutely miniscule and in stupid places so anything in them gets squashed into your flabby bits.

Or if youre RACE BIKE LYFEEEE SOOPAH SPORTSSS! and have to be hunched over your tank like a monkey shagging a melon then how about a little rear seat bag?

^^^ What the man said^^^

I use one of these, pretty small, quick release and comes with a shoulder strap if that's your thing. Only downside it's got a waterfroof cover rather than being waterproof.

Depending on where you ride, one thing that was pointed out to me once is if you ever got bike-jacked and all your worldly possessions are on your bike (in a tank bag or topbox for instance), they'll likely go off with the bike unless you've got impressive presence of mind and your attackers don't try and get something off you that you clearly consider valuable.

For that reason, I try to keep whatever cards I need on my person (tend to just carry my licence and a credit card wrapped in a £20 note in case apple pay stops working) and try and find a slot for my 'phone, but I agree it's a pain.

I think if I lived somewhere that was an actual thing I had to genuinely worry about, I'd move.

True, although not everyone has that choice. I get the impression (may be a false one) that many areas of London are like this and areas of Manchester are certainly getting like this (and unfortunately, that is from first hand observation, albeit fortunately not myself).

I quite like having a tail bag permanently on my bike just so I can stick small stuff like a drink in it.
Sounds to me like you just need to carry less keys though Laughing

Assuming whatever leg-ware you have doesn't have pockets then, but there are plenty of slim leg bags about

This one is pretty damn cheap too

Shad SL04 Small Rider Leg Bag

Maybe also look at something like this for your keys, i have a similar one, and made the whole bunch of keys so much more compact

Pocket-Sized Key Holder

Given it's literally the most expensive place in the UK to live, I'd imagine moving out of London is always an option.

I'm forgetful at the best of times. So i want to keep stuff with me if I can. I like that tank bag but I know i'd forget it.

I'd suggest not coming off at all is probably the best bet.

I don't get on my bike with falling off in mind (well, maybe the trials bike) any more than I get in my car with crashing in mind. Might happen, chances are if it happens I'll either be fine or injured and what I have in my pockets/leg bag is going to make at most a marginal difference to that.

And yes, I have fallen off and landed up with a perfectly rectangular and fairly painful bruise where my penknife was, but meh, I also broke my arm so I didn't really notice until a few days afterwards.

The handful of times I have come off there has been some abrasion in hip area but I'd think a bag on there would most likely rip off or somehow spin round - so better than having anything solid in your pocket.
