Bike shop, Saltire, close to me is in administration.

They are selling things off at auction. Might be a bargain to be had.

Crap news, used to go to Thunder road in Cwmbran quite often just to have a gander at the new bikes.

To be fair I never understood why they didn't have an online shop like most bike shops do these days. You see shops like sportsbikeshop doing really well because of it while others seem to just ignore the market.

I went there once to get geared up after I passed my test. Found everything far too expensive. Went home and ordered from MandP instead.

And that's the thing isn't it. I go with wifie down the shops, she want's 'x' and it's half the price on Amazon. How long before all physical shops disappear. Sad but I'm as guilty as everyone else going after the cheap shot.

Yes - their business model seems (seemed) to target the wealthier customer. That is a very limiting BMW-type strategy. Sure it works for them but they've spent years perfecting their money-grabbin'.

Got my last bike from them in Staverton, they were pretty good - not the cheapest, but they had the bike I wanted and it was conveniently close to my office.

Haven't been past there in a while (changed my route because of roadworks) but I drove by Completely Motoring in Gloucester at the weekend and noticed that their forecourt was empty.

It was announced a few days ago that they would no longer be title sponser for the main Kwak team in BSB

I don't know where that leaves the FS-3 team next year though

I get it but things will always be cheaper online and having the ability to try stuff on is worth a little extra imo. Thunder road was fairly reasonable and quite a few times I was in there looking at kit they offered me a discount without even asking.
