Still feels like the Dark ages. This is all just the latest crusade. Israel are a western colony holding Jerusalem (european names, european/american accents).

It looks more and more middle-eastern all the time, probably due to the amount of Sephardic/Mizrahi Jews who seem to barely speak English (if at all).

The Arabs are disunited and lacking leadership so cant do anything about it. Might take them 100 years to get themselves together. Or as long as the US keep using its military and economic might to keep them divided.

That's just it, in 100 or even 50 years the US won't be the white Christian zionist state that backed Israel all these years.

I think Iran are just waiting for that day, they see things in civilisational terms, not like our leaders who think in ~5 year chunks.

The Middle-East doesn't need America to remain divided, they're doing that themselves. Look up Shia vs. Sunni.

There's divisions like in any religion, the question is...

- is Iraq less or more stable since they got rid of Saddam?
- is Syria less or more stable since they tried to overthrow Assad?
- is Libya more or less stable since they killed Gaddafi?

What have been the benefits to us for (attempting to or sucessfully) overthrowing these regimes?

In 2010 'Gaddafi said: "Now listen, you people of Nato. You're bombing a wall which stood in the way of African migration to Europe and in the way of al-Qaeda terrorists".'

Europe's greatest failure was letting the Reconquista stop at Morocco when they should have carried on all the way to Jerusalem...

As for Christianity...

It's like one of those gut bacteria. We're not sure how or even if it benefits the body but if it out-competes more deadly bacteria (i.e. Islam) then it's a Good Thing.

It seems the Arab psyche doesn't really embrace democracy as we think of it. Every Arab country has a strong? (maybe not quite the correct terminology) leader or a dynasty that has absolute power. When ever one gets overthrown, another rises in their place, the obvious one being the Shah getting replaced by an Islamic religious state when Khomeini took over.

Even the stable North African states are more like dictatorships and theocracies than democracies.

I was poking fun at Chicken's propensity to go mental at anyone who said anything slightly disparaging about Christianity Smile

Trying to enforce liberal democracy could well be part of the destabilisation process, at least it seems to pan out that way. Then they reject it the second you stop pointing the barrel of a gun at them (like Afghanistan).

How do you evaluate this. Israel has been under attack since it was conceived or created. Arab states hate them with a passion for a myriad of reasons. And people who don't have a real insight to the mutual hatred get involved. Is there an answer?

And by the 'don't have a real insight' I'm saying laws fabricated in the Hague or the UN don't have much reality in the middle east.

Traditionally these things were easily resolved with a little genocide. Apparently that's not allowed anymore after some men with moustaches overdid it a bit in the 20th Century Rolling Eyes

Jews have committed numerous terrorist acts, including the King David hotel bombing (killing 91 people), assassinations such as the UN mediator Folke Bernadotte, and even their own Prime minister who was seeking an end to hostilities & and a two state solution.

Israel funded Hamas, then act like victims when it bites them in the arse, and then flatten Gaza with 70% of deaths being women and children (more victimhood).

Which side are the terrorists that have no interest in peace again Thinking

I guess murdering 20,000 children is wrong - who'd have thought?

Good point. If the majority of the population has been radicalised, are they really "civilians" you're massacring?

Thats a bit like complaining about people who state 2/5 of sick absence happens on a Monday or Friday.

Pretty sure that if you looked at the averable population 70% of them will be women and children is probably close to the truth.

What it does indicate is that its indiscriminate attacks and isn't really directed at the 'fighting age males' that the people of thsi forum are so fond of discussing.

Out of interest, what percentage of the people massacred/kidnapped etc on 7th of October last year were females/kids and how many were males?

Are you about to try and justify the wholesale massacring of a people because another unjustifiable massacre happened?

I think that it's a bit rich condemning Israel for carrying out acts of retribution. I suppose that you think that they should just lay down and take shit again and again and again....

You mean why couldn’t they just say one massacre (theirs) was enough?

'by Gabriel Epstein' Laughing

The article I linked to cites deaths the UN verified, it even says the UN doesn't see the health ministry data (that Epstein was 'debunking') as reliable.

But how far would you take that logic. When in your opinion has their retribution gone far enough. How many more innocent civilians need to die? Maybe 100,000 would do or a nice round 1 mill?

If you're going by strict Old Testament law, it should be an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. So they have way overstepped the mark.

But the Israelis aren't Christian. What does their book of fables say?
