Having a trapped nerve in my elbow. It hurts like buggery, there is no comfortable position and all feeing in my fingers has gone so my hand is useless. It is a real insight into how difficult it must be to not have use of a limb. Simple things take far longer, and the lack of sleep is starting to show in my mood. I know it will pass having had the same thing in my other elbow a few years ago, and that took weeks to shift. Bastard...

It's BCF logic; don't complain about accidently speeding in a topic made for having a casual moan, but get caught doing nearly double the speed limit and you have the moral authority to lecture others on their slight speeding infractions Wink

Heated gloves

Got a pair of Alpinestars and neither glove heats up and I've got to faff about sending them back.

Dishwashers.

My Bosch Series 2 has packed in after only 4 years.

Trying to find another they nearly all seem to come with aquasafe/aquastop modules on the water inlet hose.

Not only is this bulky so requiring a bigger hole in the cabinet to get it through but they have to be installed vertically so won't fit onto my horizontal pipework.

All the bloody thing does is protect against a burst pipe - unlikely with UK water pressures.
They don't protect against the more likely leaky washer.

I was making my usual efficient way through Tesco’s aisles when I encountered a woman and child partially blocking one corner, so I held the basket in front of me, and low, and slipped past without contact or conflict. Meanwhile the woman unnecessarily moved her elbow and basket a mere couple of inches and when I was well past said, “You’re welcome,” like I’d done something wrong. That cow has troubled me all evening. I reckon this is the kind of insult that inspires serial killings, if only I could remember what she, my first victim, would look like. Maybe I’ll just pick a random, inspired by this event.

Replacement set of heated gloves are exactly the same.
Power up and can cycle through heat settings but no heat.

So I've got to send them back for a refund and get some more -different brand this time

Do they? News to me - and mine's fitted horizontally, without any apparent issues

The Miele one I looked at said install vertically.

This one's a Hisense. I've emailed their support and not got an answer so have assumed they were the same

They do a bit more than just that. They also protect your machine and your home from damage in the event of any water escapes within the machine.
In my (non-expert) opinion, it's no big deal if the aquastop valve is installed horizontally. I've never come across one that wouldn't work in this way, though it may put a little extra strain on the solenoid valve if it's not installed in the recommended orientation.
If you'd be happier installing it as per instructions, you might be able to utilise something like this:-

Sodding GoPro won't bloody link via WiFi to my phone. Pain in the arse, systems wont recognise each other. Used to work fine, but then started taking it's time to link, tried a reboot, but bugger all. Might use it as a spider killing cube that is thrown against a wall at high velocity.

On line forms and companies who you can only get in touch with on line. I'm not an IT specialist, I don't know 90% of the terms that you use, no I can't up load this and fucking that. I just want a person that I can see, show documents to and just pay to do the job. Oh and that recent utility bill is bloody on line and not sent to my house any more, so no I can't get a copy of it to attach to your on line bloody form. Bastards all work from home, get into a bloody office and actually do something for your bloody customers. You fill the fucking form in, bunch of work from home cunts.

Laughing I get more work done when I work from home than when I have to go into the office Laughing

But then ... I don't have to work with members of the public who require face to face interventions.

The crush of humanity on the commute is exhausting, my productivity levels are much higher when one doesn't have to squish oneself up against garlic-breathing neanderthals who still reek of last night's daily overdose of alcohol. Sick

I'm too old to put up with that shite any more, and very grateful indeed for the luxury of hybrid working.

Sold a bike, third person to view it bought it, but all three viewers felt the need to lean on my car. I don't know what it is about the car that entices people to do it (i've found many people do it over the years), but regardless, what happens to their mind that removes their respect for other people's possessions? How would they feel if I leant upon their car whilst talking directly to them!? Annoys me madly.

happened to us 4 times before it finally sold. Evil or Very Mad

there should be a law where either the buyer puts down a non refundable deposit or pays sellers fees which are then deducted from final price.

some people are time wasting selfish arseholes.

Insurance.
It's always insurance, isn't it? Bear with me though.

I recently received my bike insurance renewal notice; although absolutely nothing had changed on the policy apart from an extra year's NCD, I was expecting a hike, well, just because, innit. However, a 100% increase was definitely unexpected, so I shopped around and found cover elsewhere for not a lot more than I paid last year.

A full week before my renewal date, my old insurer (who was on auto-renewal) emailed me to congratulate/thank me on another year's cover (I hadn't yet got around to contacting them to cancel). Hmm. I also discovered they'd already hit my credit card for the full premium... Oh well, I'll just cancel now and they can reimburse me. I got on to their webchat thing, and did so. However, they refunded £35 less than I'd paid. Surely some mistake?

"I'm really sorry but we no longer refund the Service fee"

"You have to be kidding me?"

"I do apologize. Would you like to log feedback about this?"

"You have renewed my policy 1 week before it is even due, against my willl. Absolutely you will refund the full amount."

"I'm sorry once again and that you feel this wasn't to the standard you would expect. We would love an opportunity to look into this for you and hopefully restore your faith in our brand. If you would like to leave feedback or would like us to investigate your concerns further, please use the below link"

I followed the complaints procedure, and was advised (1) that because the renewal notice stated that renewal would be automatic; (2) that payment would be taken a week before the policy started; and (3) that the "renewal fee" was non-refundable, they had followed the correct process and my complaint was therefore not upheld. Though they did then refund the fee "as a one-off gesture of goodwill".

I'm stunned that they think they can get away with this shit. I'm not arguing with their points (1) and (2), but whatever; however their point (3) is deeply, deeply buried in small print, if it's even there at all. I don't even get it now, looking back at it. I'm quite tempted to put a complaint in to the ombudsman, just because....

I've had attacks since my early 20's thanks to the delightful condition Ankylosing Spondylitis but this one was brought about by a small piece of shoe moulding offcut that deflected off a previously unnoticed broken part on my mitre saw. Crying or Very sad
