Hello,
waiting from germany. I sah some post here in this forum about old kawa bike with disc valve.
Is here someone who has experience with These bikes?
1. My clutch Slips when engine is Cold even with NEW 10w40 mineral Based oil. What could it be?
2. The oil pump is not in use. Will I need 1:25 or is 1:50 ok?
And has the Conrod a needle bearing?
Any hint is welcome.
Thx

Clutch could be worn plates, warped plates, glazed plates, faulty release mechanism, sticky cable, notched basket or tired springs. Only way to tell is to take it apart, inspect it (check plates for thickness and flatness, check basket for notches, check mechanism for problems, measure spring free length), clean up the plates and reassemble.

50:1 should be fine with modern oils. Remember the jetting could need adjusting if you're not using the pump. The oil port on the carb will need to be blanked off so it doesn't draw air in. Also if the pump is still there, if it's not pumping oil, there's nothing lubricating the pump and it can seize, causing damage to the drive mechanism inside the engine. I've heard of people re-routing the pump output back into the oil tank so it constantly re-circulates the same oil. It's better to use the pump if you can, of all the things that fail on 2t motors, the oil pump isn't a common one.

Caged needle bearing small end.

Hi,
Thank you for answering. I haven not opened the part with the Clutch yet. Maybe I do when the bike is on the road. Still have hope the issue fixed by itself then. If not I will open.

Regarding oil pump. Please find the picture with removed parts. I think everything could make Problems is away. Right?

Do you know where on the carb the oil hose was connected?
My carb seems to be not the original.

As background I bought the bike how it is an know I investigative how it is Smile

From the papers I know the bike is inrestricted with 14hp. Hope it is. Do you know the intake angle of the disc for 10hp and 12hp?
