Maybe it's because people have realised that they are both shit and expensive.

Sadly, we are devastated to announce that we have had to cease trading with immediate effect. After a difficult period of uncertainty in the economy, continued poor weather, forced over supply and stocking from our manufacturer partners and finally the devastating impact to businesses of the recent Budget announcements, have left us, like so many others, in an untenable position.

We want to assure you that every possible effort was made to try and avoid this decision, but making it now is the only way we can minimise the impact on all those affected.

We recognise there will be those of you that have concerns and matters outstanding and we want to assure you we are doing everything we possibly can to resolve these. We kindly ask that you are patient whilst we work to ensure these are dealt with quickly.

We respectfully ask that any queries are directed to the proposed Administrators, Westcotts Business Recovery, 26 -28 Southernhay East, Exeter, Devon, EX1 1NS (Tel: 01392 288555) as is the norm in these sad and difficult circumstances.

Lastly, we would like to thank all our customers, many of whom we consider friends, for supporting us over the last 22 years.

From what I've seen on the YouTubes it's happening all over for Harley - similar reports on US dealers shutting down.

A classic move by manufacturers is pressure the dealers into taking on more inventory to make it look like things are rolling along as normal to shareholders. It might be seen as acceptable behaviour for a small market blip but Harley has not and will not face up to the fact the market is no longer interested in their product.

I just can't think of anyone much younger than me that would even entertain a Harley. The bad boy/HA lifestyle image is a real turn off for most people. They aren't even on the radar of the the bobber set who prefer style over substance.

If what Easy says is true, and even dealers in the US are offloading them then the brand is doomed.

I went up the A3 into town a couple of weeks ago and saw quite a few Harleys (V-twins of some sort anyway) mostly old f*ckers riding 'em Smile I have seen a few "beard oil" types that do go for either a smaller (Sportster/Nightster) or classic HD but that's a really tiny market to chase after.

Adapt or die. "I'm not brave enough to do the former!" - every Harley CEO Rolling Eyes
