I keep weighing up whether to get a water softener. The water round 'ere's as 'ard as Conor McGregor before a rape trial. AFAIK they work by swapping calcium ions for sodium. The water's not "purer" just softer, seems like cheating somehow Thinking

As for my own purchases, Henry Weston's Vintage Cider. Comes in a wine bottle - again, that feels like cheating. The crosses one has to bear Rolling Eyes

I bought a Water2Buy one from Amazon
Great bit of kit.
I used to get a bit itchy sometimes after a shower as the water is so hard here.
None of that now - I have baby soft skin Very Happy

Also means you don't need to muck about putting salt in the dishwasher and use less conditioner with the washing.

i have a reverse osmosis filtration system. it completely removes limescale. my kettle still looks like new and its around 15 years old.

Everyone I know - and that's not an aphorism, ppl IRL - has nothing to say but good things on air friers. But literally, I have nowhere I can put one in our tiny kitchen Sad

Had one about two years and like microwave since they are relatively cheap if it broke I wouldn't hesitate to buy another as it's used daily and often 2 or 3 times a day.
I think the economy aspect compared to oven is a bit exaggerated but a lot of things you might fry work well in it too.
The downside is keeping it clean inside and out also where it stands against tiles starts to get a bit acky where it vents out the back.
It could be a problem if not against tiles or some other surface you can properly scrub down I would think.

Is she Italian?
(For some reason I have it in my head that you have some sort of wop heritage Thinking )

If so, I can highly recommend THE TUSCAN YEAR which is not so much a cookbook but the story of a year in the life of a Tuscan farmer and his wife (Italian, not English) and what happens month by month in terms of food production, and its dotted with descriptions of recipes which are enough for the average foodie to put together in their own head.

I bought it for my then-hubby (Italian) when we were still married and we both read it from cover to cover and regularly consulted it when we were dicking about with cooking.

When he was lying in St Thomas' dying of a brain haemorrhage, I wanted to go up to the hospital and read it to him again, even though he was unconscious - just so he could hear my voice and with a book we both loved. Frustratingly as it was three weeks into Lockdown the hosp couldn't decide whether I would be allowed even with full PPE. But he snuffed it three days later anyway Rolling Eyes

I am seriously toying with the idea of buying myself a pair of Snoop Dogg Skechers ... I've put several pairs into the basket. Its only a matter of hitting the BUY button Laughing

When did Skechers get trendy?

Couple of weeks ago I was in Westfield Stratford (VERY rare for me, I am not a Westfield kind of person - but I was going to the cinema, and I had to go through the mall to get to the movies) ...

... and I noticed what can only be described as a Skechers boutique. What the actual fuck?

Shocked

An undercounter freezer.
The freezer capacity in the fridge freezer we recently bought was a little inadequate so extra storage was purchased.

Aye, that's how it starts. We have somehow managed to get to a fridge, fridge-freezer and two chest freezers Smile

The way the wife shops, there isn't enough room left to fit one of Santa's elves let alone Santa or any of the reindeer!
