My wife does a selection of meats. Pork and gammon do about the best with turkey limping in third.

Finished off the subwoofer cabinet I made for a friend, made from 40mm thick bamboo worktop, looks great at the moment but will be better once finish is applied and it weighs a ton!

Driver is in the bottom at the far right of cabinet (as requested) ... the little scoop out of the end (at both ends) is to assist in pulling it out of the cabinet it'll be in.

Which goes nicely with the bamboo speaker cabinets I made for him earlier in the year Thumbs Up

The Military Type* is returning home tomorrow to his allegedly idyllic life as an ex-pat in Turkey.

It's been very nice having him to stay, in an entirely platonic sort of way.
He is an interesting and challenging source of motivation for me.
But I shall be glad to have a smoke-free home again.

First time using the Furygan Heat Blizzard heated gloves out on the bike. I had tried them in the house and wondered if they were even working, but on the bike it was immediately obvious and made a huge difference compared to the same journey on Thursday.

Gave me hand cramp in my throttle hand today though, so swings and roundabouts.

Mrs stinkwheels latest bicycle crash. About 20mph into the Christmas tree. In the living room. She didn't hurt herself so I'm allowed to laugh.

Protip. When riding in heart rate zone 4 on rollers while watching a first person video of someone riding an alpine pass on a projector screen, do NOT lean for the corners.

The helmet on even when riding inside rule still stands!

Built my mum a greenhouse. I would say "more man-points again" but this was more a case of Advanced Puzzle Engineering. Lots of extruded aluminium with rails to capture nuts, the trick being to strategically slide in extras for things happening later. It all seems very obvious now it's built but the instructions were pretty awful. Still, can't expect much for £180*

Nobody uses glass any more so the panels are some lightweight translucent shite akin to corrugated cardboard. We'll see how the whole thing fairs across a season, might get some decent polycarbonate cut to replace 'em.

*Egads! Now even cheaper.

The good thing about thinking whilst walking the dog is that you can talk out loud to yourself, and people think you are talking to the dog.

Whenever the neighbours look like there about to get too friendly I like to vacuum the front lawn, that keeps em away for a bit.

I vacuumed the entire rear garden at about 9pm one night using my wet & dry vac. I went out and found hundreds of tiny juvenile slugs had all emerged simultaneously and were spread across the garden. We were having a yearly battle with slugs eating away our plants and after I did this the problem all bit went away.

Did you find that the vacuum was a bit sluggish after that.

Lovely sunny day to be out on the bike. Quite bracing with the visor open! Feel quite energised now though Smile

Commuted on the bike every workday in December. Unfortunately January and the ice has defeated me.

Puke My imagination has produced a vivid expectation of how those might sound being sucked up ... something along the lines of *schlooooop!-POP!* .

My £400 Delonghi dehumidifier* stopped working but I found it had a 2-year warranty and it was still 6 weeks shy of that. The warranty said we’ll fix it if possible but will not replace it, which seemed like an odd, possibly unenforceable warranty. Anyway, they sent DPD to collect it and now I’m told it was beyond repair (I think it had lost its refrigerant and there was no recharge valve) but I can have a new one.

* Shut in the back bedroom with damp laundry on clothes horses it’s cheaper than running the tumble dryer, although it will be a while before it covers that purchase price.

Brand new brake rotors, brake pads, chain, cables...and cleaned and re-lubed every single bearing on my road bike oiled my gears today.

So smooth, so nice to ride. Smile

Today, new PSU for my PC oiled my gears. Brand new 1kW PSU for i7 7700K, RTX 4070 Ti Super... no more random reboots in demanding games and the new PSU is also very quiet regardless of the load. Under 30% load the cooling fan doesn't even spin. That being said, the games also run somewhat smoother, like if the old 600W PSU couldn't deliver clean enough (stable) power for the components. Two hours of RDR2 in native 4K, locked 60fps, CPU and GPU near 100% utilization in demanding areas, ... no reboots, no freezing, no stutter so far. The PSU expels mildly warm air. Thumbs Up

Also, yesterday, I did a good job while jobbing at my job... and as a result got a small bonus £££ from my bosses. Thumbs Up
