I would say the CBR600 pre 99 (ie Jelly mould style) wasn't as good as the thundercat. The FX/FY are probably a bit better, but not massively so.

No offence taken mate But! I would have to argue that point!
Yes the CBR might be a better bike but it's not Much better. The CBR is better for cornering etc yes but only if your someone like rossi who will use that extra bit of capabilities.

It's like the R6 the cat will actually out sprint an R6 as it has more torque and a more usable rev range so mid range is far far better and the R6 needs to be reved to get that much out of it. Ok the R6 is again better in corners but again I can't see that being an advantage unless you are high skilled etc.
Yes the CBR is a great bike but I'd say the Cat is a way better altenative for every day commuting and using for a good ride out to keep up with the other 600s (as it does pretty easily!).

Yeah would agree with that too although not been out on the new CBR would'nt mind a shot!

All the debate about which 600 is better than the other is, as ever, completly futile unless you are:

a) an *extremely* good rider

or

b) a spec-sheet jockey

A BMW R1200GS for riding on the roads and a CBR400RR or similar for the track! best of both worlds Very Happy

I'd say a gsxr 750 or maybe stick to a sports 600. I can't imagine myself riding a 1000cc bike Confused .

If you want more power and lots of torque the sv650s is good but the diffrence in speed from your bandit wont really be that much so why dont you get the suzuki sv1000s to me it sounds like this bike fits the bill

The SV's all look like they have bits missing off them, dont know exactly what it is, but I have never liked them.

I would say look towards the cbr600 just for the look of it.

Best mate had a bandit six, I went from the RS to a CBR6 like bendys, he rode that then went out and bought a ZX6R and he loves the difference. Seems a good bike if not a little unreliable at times. Great ride though.
