Firstly its illegal (apart from a few very specific reasons) to dock dogs tails and secondly because rats actually use their tails like a 5th limb.

(Had a few pet rats in the past.)

Fellow former pet rat owner here. I was very unconvinced at the outset, I have to say, but it came as a job lot years ago with the woman (wife to be) I was after, so... They are astounding animals actually; very intelligent and trainable, more like having a small dog really. I remember when I was rewiring our flat and running cables under the floorboards, I'd lift a board at either side of the room and send Ratty down one hole with a string tied round her middle; she'd pop up the other side and I could then pull the string through, with a cable attached the other end.

There's such a thing as demarcation, dontcha know.

Years ago a friend had rats and one of them used to like sitting on my shoulder and chattering in my ear. Not a peep out of it otherwise Thinking Proper "wizard's familar, burnt at the stake in the 16th Century" stuff Smile

One on mine sat on my shoulder nose up whilst watching Carl Cox at the UFO club.

What can I say, he liked music...

They are so inexpensive now it's daft not to have one assuming you have space.
If ours broke down I'd get another ASAP same as microwave you can do without but often really useful.
Used several times a day.

Not to mention how much cheaper it is than flashing up the oven. When I bought ours they were about £150 for the twin drawer one I bought. I must have easily saved that in electric from not using the oven.

Plus they are quick and easy to clean. Love my air fryer.

Glass of wine and a sausage roll at the Royal Albert Hall - an arm and a leg.
Dinner for two at Hawksmoor Knightsbridge (including ridiculously delicious cocktails) - the other arm and the other leg.

Bought a "daylight" LED bulb for my desk lamp. Somehow both brighter but not so harsh.
