Well, THIS is embarrassing.

I'm pretty sure there was one, which I THINK shared its attachment point to the lever with the brake light actuating spring, which I've already fitted, possibly correctly..

I also have a spring (end hooks at 90 degrees to each other) which could be it, but I didn't label it (TSK TSK) so not sure

However, IF it existed on this bike, I cant figure out where it can have attached to it. There is a wee triangular braket at the rear of the footpeg/sidestand bar with no obvious function but it doesn't look reachable.

Anyone know? Probably the same on the Honda CB125 semi-clone and likely on CG125 and other things too.

Internyet so far not much help but I can probably find one of these parked somewhere and squint at it from underneath.

Return springs only work in two ways:

The above is a "conventional" spring with one end attached to the pedal and the other to the frame or peg mount.

Whereas the other way is to have more of a "clock spring" arrangement (part 12 in the diagram)

I have it in my head that on small hondas the spring for the brake light switch hooks to the same tab on the lever as the return spring and it goes inside the return spring (so the switch spring goes up the middle of the return spring). So the other end must attch somewhere along that line.

Thanks both. Corresponds to my recollection, such as it is, though I might not have thought of the concentric spring thing so thats a potentially useful point.

Just cant currently see an attachment point to the bike frame, but I'll try and find a parked example where it'll hopefully be visible.

They seem to have thinned out a lot lately though
