Not really true though, is it.

It's the closest he can get to calling you a racist without actually using the word even though there are no stats on the leaving millionaires nationalities. A sign his argument is faltering.

When in this country, they pay tax and lots of it.

If people who pay lots of tax leave this country then how can that not make a difference to the treasury coffers?

I wish that were true but I suspect it isn't. They can afford to employ people (also goshites) to minimise their tax bill. Tax avoidance.

What's wrong with minimising your tax bill?

The tax man takes his slice of any money non-doms spend whilst in this country.

Do you think they're net contributors or net recipients?

Earn money - pay tax on it (fair enough)
Save what you earn - pay tax on it again (interest on savings)
Spend it - pay tax on it again (VAT/Fuel duty)
Die - pay tax on it again (IHT)

What's wrong with trying to minimise the government's thievery?

I have a fairer take on taxation I've been working on that I shall inflict share with you all...

I'm a radical collectivist in that I believe people are inherently local collectivists. You look after Number One, then your family, then friends, neighbours, town... distribution of resources that radiates outwards. The people in your inner circle receive the most and maybe the people on the outside receive some of what's left.

This natural inclination to collectivism has been twisted into a centralised, authoritarian perversion. In the words of comedian Steve Hughes: "...don't associate yourself with people less fortunate than yourself who have to live on the street or have no money. Don't help them out by having a conversation or by giving them a few coins. Don't do that. Why don't you just... uh... send the money to us and... err... we'll make sure they get it."

With this in mind, I believe people would get behind taxation if it was just 10% of their income (a tithe) given directly to the parish or town to manage local services. Of the monies the parish collected, 10% would be given to the county. Of the monies the counties collect, 10% would be given to central government.

What should or shouldn't be done with such a meagre amount of money would be radically refocused. Probably all central government could do is maintain a military for defence and little else. People would send their kids to a local school and attend local health services. No more of these grandiose centralised monstrosities we have inflicted on us.

Considering most of the American states are bigger than England think of them as deciding whats best for their country. If that's their choice, so be it.

Those hard working imports in case anyone was wondering...

- people from the combined Bangladeshi and Pakistani (9%), Asian ‘other’ (7%) and black (7%) ethnic groups had the highest unemployment rates out of all ethnic groups

- Yorkshire and the Humber had the highest unemployment rates for people from the mixed (15%), ‘other’ (15%), and combined Pakistani and Bangladeshi (12%) ethnic groups

- white people had the lowest unemployment rates out of all ethnic groups (3%)

...wait I thought we were the ones too lazy to work? Thinking

£2.5 billion of government investment, in addition to the £500 million allocated to Port Talbot, will rebuild the industry and help it decarbonise.

Covid: Trigger of rare blood clots with AstraZeneca jab found by scientists

Fcuks sake, not this twaddle all over again.

There's risks with every drug. Some of the ones I take have weird side effects (no, not two tails but... Wink ). This was medical science being pushed far and fast.

Twaddle? People died and were seriously injured.

Polarbear wrote:

Yeah and they're normally known. With vaccines we aren't told, and when people are injured the government gives you 120k... https://www.gov.uk/vaccine-damage-payment/eligibility

Yet they were telling people they were 'safe and effective', and that there was no additional risk from how quickly they were being developed.

How do we know Covid vaccines are safe? - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-55056016

'There are different approved types and brands available and all have undergone rigorous testing and safety checks.'
