Funny how almost nobody turned up for such an action this time. Either people in general believed the results were legitimate, the reaction by the establishment to the last "insurrection" has had an extreme chilling effect on protesting or the enthusiasm for freedom is inversely proportional to how nippy it is outside.

Or maybe the Left only turn up when they get paid Thinking

Or maybe they respect the rule of law?

The oil industry are unlikely to take him up on his rhetoric because it is already supplying the demands of the US - only a stupid businessman who makes a habit of going bankrupt would think that oil corporations would voluntarily take a hit on their profits by increasing supply in a sated market.

If that's the case, why did the Biden administration put so many hurdles in front of oil and gas extractors? Still, I suppose it's like the Labour government's pledge to build more houses: sounds good but unless you're going to mandate construction, ultimately empty promises.

Overall I guess the messaging is "this president isn't going to spend the next 4 year at the beach eating ice cream!" At some point though one of these executive orders are going to face hard resistance. People often try to talk up civil war in the US but they always picture Red vs. Blue. The real civil war will be Trump vs. his own government, specifically federal employees.

What hurdles were those? Incentivizing clean energy production is not a hurdle to the oil and gas industry and restricting new exploration sites does not prevent oil companies making the most of current resources.

You should check out the recent growth of US oil numbers compared against other global producers.
Trump's might want to produce more oil but he's unlikely to make much of an impact. His bigger concern is showing himself to be anti clean energy. Can't imagine his new best, ketamine addicted, junkie, friend is going to be too impressed with the withdrawal of EV buyer incentives.

Fun fact - Texas, the home of TV oil greats such as Dallas and what might be considered the center of the US oil industry is, among states, the largest producer of clean energy in the US - Texans might love their oil but they love making money even more.

Low information voters wanted one thing this time round - lower prices.
They don't understand simple economics and if Tucker Carlson tells them that Trump is the man to reduce prices, they believed it. Unfortunately it is the poor saps at the bottom end of the financial ladder that are going to be hit hardest, but it's OK they can always blame the Democrats for their future situation worsening.

Any fool can see that applying tariffs and relocating a large percentage of your blue collar workers is not going to be the way to reduce prices at the grocery store.
And telling the WHO to go do one is hardly going to solve our inability to stop the chickens getting bird flu. It's mighty had producing wings and eggs if you keep having to cull your flocks.

That is precisely the response expected from an American low-information voter, are you dumbing yourself down in the hope that you can flee Keir Starmerism?

The only information these people have on Kamala Harris was spoon fed BS from conservative social media operations.

Funny how Kamala being president is unthinkable, yet a proven criminal, bad businessman and liar seems to be great news.

Shameful really, so much for America being a gun obsessed nation. At such short range, an easy shot even without the benefit of a scope.

If the 'Conservative' press are to be believed, Kamala is blaming her own husband:-

It was all my adulterous, misogynist husband's fault...

Upping output means investing in new sites, new sites involve huge capital outlay which draws on cash. Investors have had a lot of 'measly' returns in the past few years and now want higher returns on their investments, they won't get those short term if companies spend on new drilling.
Does nobody in the UK read about the markets anymore, this is not quantum mechanics we're trying to understand?

This is what I've been saying to my mother for the last... 40 years or so Shocked She's also one of these "I voted Tory, I always vote Tory." people. "Why? Why, Why, Why?!" no idea. I've even gone as far as saying: "You know the definition of insanity? Repeating the same action over and over and expecting a different result." which upset her but won't change her behaviour.

Democracy is a joke.

I watched some of the public appearances and interviews Kamala gave and I honestly thought she was awful. She was massively unpopular when she stood for the 2020 election and seemingly got the VP job as the diversity hire after Biden specifically stated he would have a black woman as VP.
I can only surmise that when the 2024 run came she had enough dirt on senior party members to get installed as the nominee. I can't see why else they chose her, her approval ratings have always been dismal.
Yes, conservative social media has laid into her, but she's pretty much had the full backing of the mainstream media. Even with that she has struggled in interviews.

I listened to an interview with the afd leader last week and her talking points were standard UK conservatism from 30 years ago, and yet they're trying to ban the party and calling them far right. Given the current mess in Germany I can see why they're gaining popularity.
