Vibrant or dangerous? Colourful roundabout redesign divides village

Is it a good idea? "Dunno, we'll wait for the body count to stack up." Shocked

Whoever gave the thumbs up should be sacked, hung, drawn and quartered ... what the hell were they thinking?

How the fuck do leaves mean it's a pedestrian crossing?

Why the fuck would you put crossings on the entrances/exits to a roundabout, it'd just end up blocking the roundabout!

Is this an LGBTQUWRSTOPBNSZ type roundabout with all the different colours?

I really should have just said why Shocked

Presumably it's supposed to slow everything down as a shared space idea so that cars don't feel they have priority.
Can't see it being effective for long when locals will just whizz through like before.

This design does nothing to slow down road psychopaths: white vans, deliveroo and BMW drivers.

"Dude! You have to wait for pedestrians at a crossing!"

What crossing?

They say it's a roundabout but the road markings say it's an unmarked crossroads.

People will just straight-line it. They wont be breaking any rules by doing so either. The guy in the grey car is doing it now. It's created a lot of head-on conflicts where there need be none.

The lack of clear threshold markings means nobody has right of way and it's in human nature to just go, which is what people will do. People will also exit down the wrong lane into oncoming traffic.

Be interesting to know if they have a traffic order permitting deviation from the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions regs. I can't see anything that wacky being allowed. It would make a prosecution for not complying with them almost impossible because the road markings aren't legal. Say I didn't give-way to another car, or a pedestrian. How are they going to enforce it?

Looking at the pictures it's even more confusing at road level.
