Completed it mate.
Long time ago. Long game too from memory, and quite hard in places.

Completed as well ... but I very much doubt I'd be able to do it without the cheats ... maybe one day I'll try it Thumbs Up

All the best ... Barry

I absolutely loved Portal and Portal 2, finally got around to playing the free Portal Stories: Mel

Some real brain teasers, had to get a couple of hints at one point but eventually managed to finish it ... superb for a free game!

Contraband Police. 3D version of "Papers Please" but slightly reminiscent of the janky charm of "My Summer Car".

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The first one was very good, you could forgive the jank for the story. The second one though...

https://64.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m0hzfh7yby1rppb1ko1_500.gif

Both games are known for a fairly realistic armour layering system. Oh, you want to wear chain mail? Need to put on nice gambeson first. To the point where you can have gambeson under chain mail under plate or brigandine. And it's great brigandine gets some love as it's a very common type of armour that rarely gets a look in with historical fantasy settings. Anyhoo, in the first game almost all the clothing clipped really badly. (Look up the now infamous "Andrew the Innkeeper's elbows".) But they've mostly sorted it all out in KCD2. Oh and the countryside looks fantastic!

Gameplay is just a tweaked and refined version of the first game. If it's not broke, don't fix it. Smart move by the developers. And now the story...

90% of it is well written, dark and hilarious. I'm about half way in and the worst bit has been a sermon on the validity of the traveller lifestyle. Otherwise it's up to you. Want to treat the bathhouse wenches like whores? Do that. Stick up for wimmin's rights? There's some of that too but mostly the "right on" stuff is optional. Put 'em all to the sword if you want!

There's more of the epic Skyrim about it, as in: pick a random direction, see what happens. Plenty of side quests.

The main detractions I would cite are the lack of voice actor variety and you can't stroke the cats.

I grant you do need to have an interest in medieval Bohemian history to make sense of the story. "Holy Roman Emperor?! Who's he when he's at home?" Smile

Completed KCD2 for a murder/thief build. Some vaguely "honourable knight" playthrough would be the game's EZ-mode. You can safely ignore all the side quests and do the main questline fairly quickly and I'll probably try a pacifist monk build (zero killing, zero crime) before I put the game down completely.

There are a lot more scripted events and quests towards the end of the game and this is where the jank slips in. My recommendation is wait until it's on special offer and then keep an eye on the patch list. It's not Cyberpunk 2077 bad but why put yourself through it Smile

Decently patched and with a Bethesda style "Creation Kit" it could easily become a Skyrim killer.

Schedule 1. Drugs are bad, m'kay so don't smoke 'em, sell 'em!

It's a cheesy game but you get a sense of why people don't make money from the drugs game (at the low end anyway) when there's so much to organise, people you owe, finicky customers, rival dealers...

They're at the point of adding features rather than squashing bugs, it's pretty polished for an Early Access game.

Arise: A Simple Story

A thought provoking game done in a very beautiful way about the death of a man and his journey through the afterlife and his memories of meeting and eventually losing the love of his life.

What a fantastic game.

Grow Home
Unusual mechanics, but what a cracking game ... managed to finish it 100% with only a few achievements left to do.

Grow Up
The follow up to the first game, a much larger play area and new mechanics, another great game ... still playing Very Happy

Got the two of them for £5.68 on CDKeys, bargain Thumbs Up
