They say you don't find new music you like after age of 40. I'm not 100% sure if that means you don't find 'new' new music, or if you just don't find anything you like at all... Anyway, this was released 2 years before I was born, but for some reason I love it. Plus it's a recent discovery.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Familiarity. Everything from the late '70's to the early '90s is obviously fantastic 'cos I lived through it. Everything before I was born or after being forced to taking life more seriously* has to be seriously good to even be a blip on the radar Smile

River Crombie, solo acoustic guitar and singing. I really enjoy his original songs, and he also does amazing cover versions of popular rock and grunge songs from the 70's to 00's (Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Audioslave, Soundgarden, The Smashing pumpkins,... even Phil Collins solo stuff, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Slipknot, The Cranberries...)

In the past I'd set that as my ringtone when the wife rings. Which was fine till I misplaced my Samsung. "Honey! I can't find my phone, can you ring it for me?"

"...and that's how I got the black eye!" as I explained to the doctor in A&E.

Occasionally, very occasionally, YouTube recommends something cool. A nice Metallica cover of One:

An audiobook narrated by its author, a kiwi girl who is being described this week as a "whistleblower" about her job at Facebook (some sort of international policy advisor).

It's not really whistleblowy (yet), but has some terribly entertaining stories including how (aged 13) she was chomped by a shark and nearly died due to traditional kiwi parental laxity.

Then a decade or so later found herself in a position where she was expected to change into a bikini in the presence of M.Zuckerberg Esq but didn't want him to see her sharkbitey body. Laughing

Fosi Audio K5 Pro (external USB DAC). It's not quite studio grade but with the right bass/treble knob adjustments it gives a reasonably flat/uncoloured output. Cheap as chips though Smile
